What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

So quick check of the tread wear on the 265/70r16 Trailrunner ATs. At 9400 miles with one rotation at 5000 I have consistent wear on all 4 tires at 9/32” of tread remaining. The specs say they started at 12/32” They are wearing evenly, but at this rate I’ll swap them out before the snow...

What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

Absolutely, and need to be even more diligent the more aggressive the tire is. I have let some MTs slide past the 5000 mark (when I was younger) and once the issues begin it can be hard to correct.

That is exactly what i mean! Meanwhile in the Gorge we have not seen asphalt for a month and buses are still on their normal route & scheduled.

What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

That's what Im looking at for my new Tacoma. There is a reason the "Crummy" i road to work in as a teen was sitting on tall skinnies, Its almost like the loggers knew something about driving for miles and miles on dirt, gravel, mud, and snow covered roads?

Thats about what im hoping also, she is running 265/70/17 and is at almost exactly 30K. Now that we are talking about it I may run out tonight and measure tread depth just for grins. I did check how they are wearing this past weekend and they are perfect. rotating them every 5K with no signs of...

What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

Funny you would ask. I just picked up a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR and they came stock on it. I've since put 10K miles on them. Its a daily driver and so far I don't anything to rant, or rave about. The Tacoma rides kinda stiff and they drift some cornering on dirt at speed but that is probably more my...

What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

I see that all the time also???? I live in Washington and similar to Oregon average 64 inches of rain a year, so wet is normal. Having run BFGs ATs on 3 different rigs and now KO2s on the wife's 4Runner my experience has been nothing but normal tire performance. Nothing amazing, nothing...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

We had a malamute that my step dad brought down from Canada in the 70’s that thought he was a bad ass. Kinda was in that it killed everything in sight and would not die. Jumped out of the back of the truck at 50mph to fight, got shot and left for dead in the ditch by the neighbor after he dug...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

My dog is young, (Lab) and a cream puff. At this time I’ve accepted that it is her job to warn me, and my job to do what’s needed.

I’ve been looking into it. Several instructors have stated that even if you are 100% justified in defending yourself you will be sued. It would suck to win the fight only to have your family end up homeless.

Welcome from WA. Love the Fj. It was one of my favorite rigs. If not for a new baby at the time and my short wife struggling with the kids car seat, lift, and suicide doors we would still have it. She ended up going to a newer 4runner and I’ve since picked up a new Taco. That’s a nice setup you...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Beyond crazy. So you are trusted to carry while on the clock but not when you are not? Or is it that you are paid to protect & serve but don’t have the right to defend yourself with a handgun unless it’s allowed by your employer? Bizarre and a bit disturbing:) either way the 12ga is a very...
