Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
If you're going to Bodie, I'd also recommend driving out to Aurora ghost-town and cemetery. The town is pretty non-existent even though Mark Twain once lived there, but the cemetery is cool, and the drive is really cool. Once you get to Bodie, just keep taking the 1 main road east towards...
I think it really "depends". From what I've heard, this can and does happen, yet other times I hear people go and there is hardly anyone there. That said, this trip is more than just Usal, Avenue of the Giants and Fern Grove are cool places too.
I only use my Buddy heater to break the chill before bed, and before I get out of bed in the morning. I rarely have it on for more than a few minutes. the thing I don't like about DHs, and I don't have one, is the need to carry another fuel source, and the noise of them running. I'm not quite...

I found a link to making a case.
I have the same Makita saw, so I think I'll do that. having a couple of batteries at the ready, including a quick charger I can plug into my lithium cube, that recharges when I drive, I'm not worried about running out of juice.
the last couple of trips I had...
how are folks transporting their chainsaws?
basically, how are you managing that little seepage of bar oil from getting on things? I was thinking of making a little box or something to set it in/on.
200000 miles? Even a 3 year old truck which they are not, would have to average over 5,000 miles a month. Wow! Hats off to them. LOL !!
Yeah, the guy on the Gladiator forum that’s put that many miles crisscrosses middle America following big-rigs carting windmill parts for work. It was...
I would get a trim like the Rubicon or Mojave if you want lockers and such. Unless you’re that mechanically incline to do them yourself, you won’t be saving much. I got a JTR because it will everything I wanted s truck to do out of the box, and more.
As for reliability, I the Gladiator is as...
I found the newer Tacoma’s lacking in space compared to the Gladiator, especially the back seat area and bed. The bed is a bit more narrow on the Tacomas.
Sequoia and King’s Canyon are separate parks. Although geographically close, they are as different from each other as they are from Yosemite, which is also close by. Therefore I’ve been to those 3, and Arches.
you can try and post a meet-up Rally Point. You might be surprised who's out there. Some folks might not be that active, but could also use a little fire under them to get more active again. I had a 98 Tacoma for 20 years. Was a great little truck.
I've had mine since early 2020 and love it. I actually got mine down in SoCal and drove it back to NorCal because the price was good. This was at the beginning of Covid and I had never seen the LA freeways so empty. It was the best driving experience going through LA I've ever had, despite...
I use a gazelle. I had been using an old backing packing, then a slightly larger tent, but I'm getting too old to crawl and stoop in and out. lol
I love being able to stand and get dressed. My back loves it even more.
I also put in a cot with foam pad and sleeping bag. And a small folding...
Other options to camp besides at the expo? I'm only going to able to make it for 1 full day and don't want to pay for a whole weekend camping at it. Plus I have a friend in Bend who might be able to stay with but haven't confirmed yet, or maybe camp outside of Bend in the woods like the...
back in my backpacking days, I had a MSR whisperlite. it had 2 settings, blow-torch or off. I think the single burner jet-boil is like that. However, jet-boil is a brand and they do make a dual burner stove set-up, and cookware.
