Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
This is how it sits today. Been a mountain of work to get it this far. Since my last update I have installed:
1) Old Man EMU shocks and ARB springs (gave me a 3 inch lift)
2) rebuilt the entire air intake (new gaskets, EGR valve, MAF Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, etc ...)
3) repaired most...
So I thought an update to this thread would come in handy. I decided to go back through the pages and see if there is anything that has been offered but not taken.
Items that have been offered:
Page 1:
MaxTrax Mounting Pin Set (Claimed)
Jeep Wrangler Haynes Repair Manual
PALS First Aid Kit...
As much as would love to do the Cummins swap, the price is just a bit too high for my taste. Even the initial cost of the motor, you still need to other work, the fuel filler, fuel lines, etc... There are more cost effective options available.
1999 Isuzu Vehicross. I got it because it’s different. Very different. I see a lot of Jeeps that badge “built not bought”, then cover it in name brand gear. I just can’t be that guy. I like to be an individual, and this definitely qualifies LOL! ;)
Don’t have a pic yet, but just put 31” tires...
I work in satellite communications and for “fun” I design circuits. Lately I have been trying my hand at automotive circuits. It’s been a lot of fun so far playing with relays and switches that are much larger than I normally use. Also the distances from switch to relay to device (light, cb...
So, Playing around with the member Map links. Seems to be only the links in the menu from the Forum Pages. The link from all the other pages work well. However, now the store link just comes up as http://bit.ly/OBStore and cannot load the page.
There is absolutely nothing wrong filling a role you are suited to, and may even enjoy doing. Yes, before the trip starts there should definitely be some communications between participants. Things like, who is group leader, order of march, planned route, etc.., should all be handled before you...
Most certainly. I think this is a great topic to discuss.
Being self reliant doesn’t necessarily equal completely self capable. On a run I did with a group in Colorado a Jeep started to slide off the road. It didn’t fortunately. But, he used his own winch to pull himself out, and another Jeep...
The best advice I have heard on this topic so far is from Andrew St. Pier White (Check out his you tube channel 4xOverlnd). To paraphrase: Everyone in the group should be completely self sufficient and have vehicles that are capable of handling the track you are on. I agree with this completely.
I am sure it would help the admins diagnose problems more accurately if along with the issues description you include additional info such as Operating System, Browser used, and if your are trying to access the full or mobile version of the page.
