  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Tips On Planning An Overland Adventure

Works fine for me. That was an enjoyable video, and a lot of good tips. We've ben to several of those areas in South Dakota that you visited on our yearly cross-country trip to take our daughter to college in Seattle. (Interstates out, wander home - once taking 42 days to get back.) It is a...

Not a fan of the new format

Also, the forum descriptor does not appear in the forum listing. And on the default listing, if you hover the mouse over a sub-forum, it shows its descriptor, but not on the new format.

Not a fan of the new format

I agree. It disrupts the post's flow to have the poster's comments, other people's response, and then the poster's signature. I too noticed the giant floating reply button getting in the way of other information. Curious for the need of that button, when every post has a reply option, and the...

Not a fan of the new format

Comparing the new format to the light "Default Style" (since I've never used toe old dark style) : Center column is narrower, with the right column being wider. Less information in a given height window. - Each element has a "frame" around it that takes up height. - Post time, hit buttons...

Not a fan of the new format

I'm still on good old "Default Style" with the white background. Easy to read, and all the menu options are easy to find. If that style ever goes away, I'm done, as I can't read on a dark background with white text. Gives me a headache in just a few minutes.

    Ohio Roll-Call!

Thanks for putting this together, Ed. You should create this event in Rally Point, as most folks won't see this buried in a roll call thread.

Post a pic, make a new photo challenge!

The last time mine was washed was 2-1/2 years ago when I bought it new. Looks weird all plain like that! Next challenge: Your vehicle in the rain.

1969 FIAT 124 Station Wagon. The first photo isn't mine, but exactly like it. I eventually threw the rack away, as it was more rust than steel. The second photo is us camping on some back road in east Tennessee. Next Challenge: More of the same.

5th Gen 4Runner cargo basket question

I had a Yakima LoadWarrior with the 18” extension on Thule cross bars on my Outback, and it worked great! When I bought my ‘16 Trail Premium, I moved the whole assembly over to the 4Runner. It was terrible!! It was so loud at 60 MPH you could barely hear each other inside. It was louder at 35...

Steve and Claire blast across the USA

We made it to Spokane on schedule. Too much to eat and drink already on this trip, and haven’t even made it to Seattle and all that fresh seafood yet!! We will arrive tomorrow, staying at my first ever Airbnb near Sand Beach Park for the next three nights, then flying home Friday night.
