Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
No, but he wanted me to send him some pictures when I had mine mounted. I had to make it work, cause my spacing wasn't very wide with the metal work on the sides, but I got it figured out. I also used those clamps for my awning on the driver side.
Thanks, I bought this set up from Fourtreks. He didn't have it on his website, but does offer it. I do like the convenience of having the maxtrax outside for ease of getting to. But I figured they'll be safer (somewhat) on the inside of the cage.
It's is a special time with them. I try to remind myself it's about the journey, not the destination. My boys are 12, 9, and 7. Sometimes it doesn't always work as planned, but in my boys mind, it was the perfect trip.
Had to pick up my son from Hume Lake at 8:30 am on Saturday. So my 2 other boys and I made a day trip out of it. It was refreshing to be in 73 degree weather again. We picked up #3 at camp and headed to Buck Rock Fire Lookout. Only a short 178 steps to the top for an awesome view of the...
I average about 19-20 mpg. This is my daily driver. It's kind of interesting that I get better gas mileage going 70mpg, than I do going 60mph. I do baby my truck. I have hit 24mpg every so often as it sits.

I have been thinking about building a trailer since we started camping with the Tepui rtt. I like the idea of dropping the trailer and exploring. I dont like the $6800 price range.
I'm sure it's in full swing now. They open the sites once a campground is full. I was nervous when the middle campground was packed. Luckily, they must've just opened up Sheep Creek. Let us know how it goes.
Cedar Grove drops down to about 3000-4000ft. We had planned to hit Buck Rock Fire lookout, but Big Meadow was still closed. The picture below was the closest we got to the lookout (you may need to zoom in on the top of the rock). I asked the Rangers, they thought it may open around June 7...
I took the boys out for a weekend out to Cedar Grove. Nice weather, lots of mosquitos! What was the one thing we forgot....yep, insect repellent. Luckily, they still had a blast. The Kings River was rocking, water falls were amazing. I haven't seen flows like this in a long time.
I only fly fish the surf. I like to wade up to my knees, and cast, and strip in a fan pattern. Once you get a strike, keep hitting that same spot. The perch like bright orange colors. I'll send a picture of some of my surf flies later. I'll fish the hour before first am high tide. I don't...
