Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Yes, but also melee weapons. I just like to haha. Been a sushi chef for 23 years and love sharpening blades. That spear could shave your face, or remove it completely. Took a while to sharpen. Profiled with 1000 grit, and polished at 4000 to 8000 grit. It's mirror polished haha.

    Injuries and Recovery.

Luckily I never injured myself on a trip. But prepared for it, as much as I can anyways. Not sure how I would deal with a major event like bones sticking out of skin or tourniquets. Recently had surgery and that took me out of overlanding for months. I'm wheeling now, but haven't camped in...

Questions on overlanding with a pup

My 2 dogs come with me on every trip. They're wearing a harness that's attached to rollcage, so they don't go anywhere in the event of an accident. Once at the destination, they're on 20' cables. Sadly they're not allowed to roam, as they have high hunting drive and will be gone for half the day.

    Powering Electric Cooler- Questions

I have an alpicool 35qt. It's an awesome fridge. I have running on my ecoflow delta 2, which is 1024 wh, with a 220 watt solar panel. Your 300 watt battery will need to be charged often, and 100 watt of panel will be slow. I also bring a 500 watt jackery as backup. I plug my fridge into the...

    Best small propane firepit?

Eventually I'll get a mount and put a 5lb tank on my rack. At Walmart, they sell two 1lb propane for 8 bucks, so I got a bunch and keep em in my basement. I use about half a bottle to full 1lb bottle for 2 nights of camping. I bring at least 3 bottles, in a Plano case on my roofrack with my...

    Best small propane firepit?

Ah that's cool. I don't know why, I prefer the 1 lb bottles. My stove and lantern runs off of them, so it is convenient.

    Dog Gone, Camping

That's good advice. My dogs are always backseat with a harness tied to something. I was rear ended and my jeep got totalled, but dogs are fine.

Securing a fridge in a truck bed without drilling holes?

I don't want to install Sliders, so I strap it down, and also bungee cords.

Do you "pack light" or heavy?

I pack as light as possible, don't like packing and unpacking too much. Just basic camping gear.

    Dog Gone, Camping

I don't go camping without them! I usually go solo, or my wife, and my dogs are great company.

    Best small propane firepit?

No overlanding for a long time

Going overlanding a week or so! Probably Joshua tree, really close by and weather is fair (for my wife haha). Also found a really great spot like 10 minutes from home.

    OB Watches

I like simple auto watches. This one glows for very long times too.

What Propane Fire Pit do You Recomend?

It's cool, but little on the big side. I'm getting the one that's shaped like an ammo box, easier for storage.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Molle panel for rear windows, also 2 large bags with molle attachment. Next will be spare tire ratchet mounting for 2 rotopax. Also an amber light bar for the rear of my roofrack.

For those with lights on rear of roofrack

I want to get amber lights on my roofrack, at the rear as chase lights. I'm wondering if 10' is enough.

No overlanding for a long time

Been doing some light trail riding. As soon as I can lift my gear onto my roofrack, I'll be overlanding again.

No overlanding for a long time

My transplant team says I'm doing great and my recovery is incredible. They already reduced many meds and cut out 3 of them completely.

My experience with Overlanding vs Off-Roading: Is the barrier to entry for Overlanding LOWER?

While I love offroading, my rig was more customized for camping, but in areas most trucks/4x4 won't make it. I like to camp in solitude, no one nearby. I got 37" tires, giving me a lot of options in locations I can choose. I've found some cool spots even stock wranglers can't go. Lately the...
