US Southwest Reoccurring - Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Meet Up

Uncle Buck's has a meeting area in the back by the kitchen but no meeting rooms. They do have a sports bar area up stairs on the mezzanine but it can get crowded with regular customers up there. I like the idea of meeting in the parking-lot and after an hour or so whoever wants to can go get...

OB Approved Overland Safety: Fire Extinguishers

Nope, not confusing Purple K for A, at the time the hangars were built Purple K was the latest and greatest, very expensive at the time also. We still have the Purple K's at the hangar, just not where anyone can use them. As far as the corrosive effects of Purple K, I do not know, I can only...

OB Approved Overland Safety: Fire Extinguishers

Purple K very well might be the best way to put out a fire, but if you want to be able to use anything after putting out the fire, it sucks huge!! We had big Purple K's hung in each of the four corners of our new hangers. When the Aircraft Insurance Inspectors saw them they said, "you should...

OB Approved Using CO2 on the Trail

It's just an Oil Filled Pressure Gage, same as any other just filled with oil to dampen the vibration and needle jumping. I just find they last longer but you can use whatever gage you like. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Dream Overland Trip

By far, WAY FAR, would be New Zealand. While I was there I thought I could live there. People are so cool, and the land is breathtaking around every corner. Cannot wait to return for a much longer stay.

....and by the way, the inlet side of my manifold is 3\8" just for the additional volume going to the 4 - 1/4" fittings below. I am no high volume gas expert but I just thought it made sense, maybe not, but it works.......

OB Approved Using CO2 on the Trail

Sorry, I should have said something. I had "high-jacked" the OP's thread more than I thought I would, but did not intend to. So I just started my own because, as you see, this is something I would like to pursue further.

OB Approved Using CO2 on the Trail

Here is a look at what I have so far, just a manifold with gauge and stainless shut off valve. With a hose running to each wheel it should be a breeze. I like where you're going with the hidden lines, that ought to look very slick. Also in this picture is my in-line regulator and swivel that...

    Lighting up Camp

Like some have eluded to here, I am not a fan of blasting lights while camping. Even in everyday life I feel light sets the mood, and calm and relaxed does not come from a blue-white LED. I like the low glow of a Coleman Lantern hung on a shepherds hook on the outskirts of camp. For in camp I...
