At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Rugged Radios....Yes or No?

They get used for events under a business license. So the event promoter can just hand the radios out and not have to program anything. But people to buy them and use them with impunity without that license for recreation. So they have a legal purpose, but also are sold with the knowledge that...

    Gun Cases/Roof Rack Storage

I found a way to mount one without drilling. You can see that method here But that way requires the bars be too far apart to mount anything else and requires more bar height so you don't hit the roof. I eventually drilled the case for u-bolts and mounted it to the bars that way. -M

Overlanding Nevada: Tunnel Camp to Nightengale

Thanks! I spend a lot of time working with Audio. I shoot for -6db for the music bed and -12 when there's a VO. Then I preview the whole video on my TV. So I get it as good as I can, though it's a moving target with all the different viewing options. -M

Overlanding Nevada: Tunnel Camp to Nightengale

I suppose on some elemental level, every dirt road looks about about like the next. Just an endless valley. Another scraggy mountain range with a name that only means something to the dusty pioneers who gave it. But every road leads somewhere. And this one brings us back here to Sage Valley, The...

Howdy! Wanted to share this article I wrote about my friend's Tundra Overland build. There are links to all the gear mentioned at my blog, but I didn't want to clutter up the post here with it. You can find those links here. The hum and rattle of the road is the background noise of adventure...

    ARB JACK vs. Hi-Lift Jack

Well, nothing works with no clearance. But you can get a hi lift or ARB in if there's a few inches of clearance.

    ARB JACK vs. Hi-Lift Jack

Yeah, That's where a toe jack somes into play. The ARB and Hi-Lift will do that, but a Bottle Jack won't unless you use a bumper.

    ARB JACK vs. Hi-Lift Jack

Last month I went out with Harry Wagner and Bradd Davidsonto test and shoot photos and video of the new ARB Hydraulic Jack for off road vehicles. I did a test of each lifting Harry’s Jeep LJ. My conclusions are that the ARB JACKis a far better and safer tool for lifting a vehicle than a Hi-Lift...

Tunnel Camp Ghost Town, Seven Troughs Range, Nevada

What kind of person leaves a perfectly comfortable modern home in the city, drives out the interstate to a lonely road, to a lonelier road, to a dirt road to a two track and finally stops, gets out to gaze with reverence upon, explore and photograph a wrecked and abandoned mining town at the...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

I think that's how the Tubndra was working in the video, the problem he was having was the tipping and bucking.

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

There must have been something malfunctioning. The consensus I've gotten is that the Toyota system is great. Personally, I like All Wheel Drive in the snow. At least around town. -M

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

Yeah. Me too. However, I think for a lot of what we do, the lockers are either not necessary, or just make thing easier, but you can get by without them with a little creativity. -M

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

Thanks! It’s funny, on YouTube i got a bunch of different conflicting responses on the Jeep traction control. BLD was most frequent though. Works great either way. -M
