This is what I did. It originally was designed for my hardtop, but is was overbuilt where it can handle the rtt. Here is where I got the idea:

I also forgot to mention that the other reason for this style of rack is that it allows me to take the hardtop off and store it. I built a lift in my garage that lifts off the top and stores it. My hope is that the hardtop and RTT will come off in one piece and that it can be stored together...

It is a little difficult to attach the RTT, but worth the low profile. I fit in my 8’ garage door.

I want to confirm that if an IPad is a cell capable device that as long as the location services is turned on the GPS function will work? No cell plan is required to use the GPS function.
