Progress ahoy!
So after some research and remembering that I had an LSD that I had originally purchased to go in my X-Runner that didn't fit in the X because it used the larger 8.4" diff and not the same "old" 8" that the FJ cruisers and 4th gen 4Runners use, I discovered that I could use it in...
Fair enough I know it was never something I was worried about before I had it either, but it does make those long drives a little more comfortable. I would imagine your 4Runner would handle it similar to my 1st gen Pathfinder where if the load is too great it will just kick the cruise off.
Why did you delete the cruise I know for myself thats always one of the few things I like having in my older Toyotas that I never seem to have. A shorter shock is just going to make the bottoming out worse what you need is a shock with more compression dampening.
Haha thats basically what I said apart from where you want to compromise with road handling both are good options. But if I was to SAS over the LT it would be 3 linked over leaf sprung, again more figuring and fabrication to get it correct over the "bolt on" leaf sprung SAS that will be...
While I don't disagree that is a good option and cheaper then the Vegas Fab kit because it is leaf sprung you will be giving up more road manners then with the longer travel ifs. To keep similar road manners as the ifs with an sas truck you need to link it which requires a lot more figuring and...
Slippery slope indeed, but I noticed that most of the lifts for your body style truck are drop bracket with lift spindles which often reduce your actual ground clearance over stock for the same tire size and are more often then not inteded to achieve a look over actual performance increases.
After a quick search this is overbuilt for overlanding but its the only performance "lift" out there for you body style F-150/250

I have a grizzly in my 4Runner, but I have a friend that had the true trac in his truck and he had to drive in pretty gingerly on the street especially in winter to keep it from unloading. The story he liked to tell about it was how the back end would jump 2-4 ft when it would unload, which is...
For whats its worth I would go with the Yukon grizzly locker over the Detroit true trac as they are a little more cost effective and dont seem to unload as violently or as often as the true track. If the u-joints are for your driveshafts then spend the little bit extra and get the toyota ones as...
I don't have duals but might as well for the size or my single odyssey 2250
Step one see if it fits.
Step two build a battery box to hold that big bastard.
Step three mount and secure the battery then extend battery cables as required.
I'd be worried your still going to mangle your bed between the weight go the rack and what you put in/on it and the forces of bombing through the desert at speed. Are you planing on a bypass/ tire rack in the bed, like either of these? If you are then I would tie the over cab rack into the...
Your other option would be to make a set of the "boomerang" shackles from scratch using 1/2" plate as cutting up and welding your stock ones back together is not the best idea from a safety stand point.
