Hey guys, I'm joining a long weekend trip that is being organised over on the Dubai Offroaders forum. It's a 3-5 day trip that will aim to cross the Wahiba Sands in the East of Oman.
Apart from the incredible overlanding experience, it's a good opportunity to promote the OB community and...
This is a question about your rig, not your bedroom activities :openmouth:
I've been using ratchet straps on my roofrack to hold things down. They are strong but I'm beginning to hate them. The mechanism gets covered in sand, the straps are easy to twist up and it just makes loading and...
Last night @BenH, myself and a couple of future OB members camped out in the dunes near Al Qudra. Call it the inaugural meeting of the OB UAE chapter :)

When I'm on a new route I run an app called Gaia Pro. It logs the route and has loads of cool offline map overlays. Makes it pretty much impossible to get lost!
We went this way a few weeks ago, made a wrong turn and I'm 99.9% sure we had lunch at the exact same spot you are parked it. It was the first place we found with some tree shade. I even recognise that concrete block next to the bbq that my kids were playing with!
We tried to combine Shawka...
This is a nice idea. But... maybe its more helpful to emphasise the companies that we actually recommend? For example, I've used Icon for fabrication, electrical work and general fitting of stuff and I recommend them to everyone I ever talk to :) There are others on that list that I can't be...
