I'll do net duties this week. I have a topic that came from one of my other nets: "Knowing what I know now, what would I have done differently as a new HAM"?
Hello. I am going to pull the trigger and get a fridge. No more ice chests. I have a JKU and solo travel so I don't worry about space too much. I thought I wanted the VL60 but it may be too big. I want the dual zone fridge and the VL45 only comes in a single zone. I chose from the VL line...
Thank you for everyone for participating. Rob should be putting up pics after trying some of these cooking techniques we threw out there. Started out with an open session and Rob asked for ways to cook while camping. A lot of people like food and have great ways of cooking. Thank you for helping...
Report is coming. Someone mentioned they wanted to see my plow disc cooker. I used a paella burner as it was cheaper than the burner I wanted. I made this before I learned how to weld so I paid someone to weld a piece of metal to fill the hole in the middle and put on handles...
I made flashcards for the 10 bands, listed in the upper corner of the card if the band is USB or LSB, whether or not there is an extra segment or VIP room which means a General doesn't get to use all of the band. I also listed the watt limitations which helped so that I remembered that all...
I'm sorry I missed it. Trying to get a few people to go to Mojave Trail before it gets insanely hot but no one wants to go. I've never seen Traveler's Monument(I want to leave my rock). Never camped overnight in Mojave. I did a day run with 65 Jeeps so it was just a drive through.
I read the question and the right answer only. I was doing that for the longest time. last weekend, I watched a livestream on Ham 2.0 whereas the guy had a powerpoint presentation and was reading statements and answers THEN he would have a quiz and I was answering the questions pretty good along...
You are so correct. There are so many things like you described that I am never going to use. I think the test should be geared towards rules, operations which I do well on but this voltage stuff, Pi filter, position of the sun.
I'm at my wits end. I've been dedicating study time since February towards my General class ticket and I am still sucking at nailing decent practice test scores. I've tried ham study dot org, Ham 2.0 for the past week, I purchased the ham study dot org app so that I can study during laundry day...
I was thinking about getting one of those retractors(like people use for their work badges) and put it in a space under the OEM radio. I keep it in the cup holder for now. I may just use the microphone hook that comes with the radio.
Thanks for the replies. I did it. I installed my 2730 and this is what I ended up with. I'm not a radio installer so another Jeepers showed me how to run the wire and he ran the wire through the firewall. I went home and set it up myself and buttoned it up myself. It actually powered on.
Thanks for the pics. **Are there any people with JK Wranglers who can show me their antenna mounts on the rear. I DO NOT want the antenna on the hood or front fender. I want the antenna on the rear. Doesn't seem to be many choices for the JK Wranglers so now I am asking for specialized antenna...
