    In Search of Boundary

If you live in the PNW, and if you haven't already, I highly recommend taking a hike out to the old town site of Monte Cristo. It is amazing, the old town was cut off from society when the only bridge was washed away and it just sits there. Further up the valley, past the townsite are old mines...

    In Search of Boundary

Now you've got me started. From what I can glean, on the Cdn side of the border (across from Boundary) was the old town of Fort Sheppard. Check this newspaper article out, it even has a picture of the old Fort Sheppard hotel. Boundary is mentioned in the article as being "a stone's throw" away...

    In Search of Boundary

That part of the world is littered with remnants of old mines and ghost towns, railways, etc. I've spent a bit of time exploring the Boundary area, especially around Greenwood, BC My Wife and i tried to find the Lost City Of Paris once, and while we couldn't quite locate it, I have a better...

I couldn't locate the Little Flat either. I was looking on the map around where the Pend O Rielle meets the Columbia but could not see anything.

    In Search of Boundary

Very interesting. I never met a ghost town I didn't like. Will have to poke around as well. i find this: http://www.ghosttownsusa.com/bound.htm They mention the Pend Oreille River , which would make sense. Putting this ghost town in the Boundary -Kootenay region . They also mention how it...

Jerry Can safe for drinking water

Having your cake and eating it too can be a difficult proposition. I have a Scepter MWC and put a spout in the bottom and mount it on my fuel can bracket on the rear bumper to allow for easy access for water. We normally use the Scepter MWC to re-fill the dog bowls (as I do have a 20 gallon...

2018 Toyota Tundra Double Cab build

Yes, it took a while but I built it. We store extra pantry items in one side of the upper cabinet and I store my compressor line, power cords, first aid kit and stuff in the other. I keep all my tools on one side under the dog bed platform, and other recovery stuff, axe, saw, jacks, blocks...

    Overland Hound

Our two mutts (Molly the deaf BC-Husky mix, and Ichabod Crane the Catahoula) have been everywhere with us over the past number of years. We took them on a 6000+ KM trip to Colorado and back, where they were able to play around on the summit of Engineer Pass, see Mt. Rushmore and The Devils Tower...

    Roof top tents and dogs.

When we had an RTT I bought a carpet runner and laid it up the hood and windshield of my Xterra. I then lifted one of our dogs (the other could jump up onto the hood) and they walked up the carpet runner and into an open window of the RTT. Simple as that. Worked slick as doggie-doo. i came up...

2018 Toyota Tundra Double Cab build

I didn't bother insulating the back wall. The cabinet has a wooden back wall, and I don't notice any heat (or cooling) loss or greater noise at all.

Rear Tire Mount Bumper/Sleeping in Rig

No rattling or anything of the sort. It uses a wedge-locking system to keep it tight in the receiver hitch. I cut down a quad-cane from work and put it under the swing-away for added support when we are camped out for a longer stay. It's not really mandatory to do so, I just like to reduce...

Rear Tire Mount Bumper/Sleeping in Rig

I have the Hitchgate on my truck. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is the offset model so it swings out completely to the side of the truck. If you have a tailgate, it allows you to open it. I have a dual fuel can holder, and Hi-Lift attachment on it (along with the trendy old Maxtrax...

2018 Toyota Tundra Double Cab build

We have 2 full size dogs along for the journey in my 14 DC as well. I removed the entire rear seat and made a raised dog bed platform with storage underneath, and storage along the back firewall. I have no need for the rear seats so it works perfectly for us.

    Require Some guidance

Previous to owning the Tundra I had a fairly well built up Xterra. If I ever decided to get a mid-size suv again it would be an Xterra, no question about it. Aftermarket support is out there, maybe not to the level of the fanboy 4Runner, but you can find pretty much anything you want for one. I...

    propane tanks

I have the AT Overland 10 pound tank carrier on the back of my camper. I use this tank for our portable firepit or for back-up in case my two other 10 pound tanks empty. The AT Overland bracket is very well made. And no, the boomstick does not come with it ;:

    Ram Mount Ideas?

I have the Ram X-Grip window suction mount for my phone. It has never fallen off, even under extreme and long conditions. I have the Ram X-Grip III large tablet mount, on the 18" aluminum bendable rod that mounts to the passenger seat frame bolt. It is also very sturdy, even in rough...
