...(Darn Tough are a favorite); a Yeti or similar insulated drinking cup or coffee cup; a first aid kit; a Thermacell bug repellent kit (used my a LOT this summer); or a subscription to a useful app - such as weather (Clime), navigation (Gaia, onX) and of course, Overland Bound for the best...
Thanks! Hey, nice 1st gen. Boy do I sure miss mine. I had an 88 with over 300k miles on it and totally regret selling it. It ran like a top and everything worked except the rear wiper. What year is yours?
Im not familiar with that particular area but the Mark Twain does have many good trails. Best bet is to look on Gaia or onX for public use forest service roads in that area.
I live in New Hampshire and recently purchased a GMC Canyon AT4 and really want to bring my kids out into the wilderness on some easy/moderate trails to drive on. Super new to this, any trail specific trails I should look for?
...use as bases to build your own. NEBDR 4 - 6, The Hampster, the TransNewHampshire Exploration route, the Little Hampster etc. OnXOffroad and Gaia both let you upload the GPS waypoints for planning. I've favored OnX lately b/c their trail reports were very accurate during the big floods in...

The US Forest Service link I provided earlier states that it's private property, not me. There very well may be a standing authorization and right of way in place, I just can't find it anywhere online. This area has been a legal battle for nearly 20 years and we need to follow the rules as USFS...
I try to be very good about double checking where I ride as well, having just gone through there, I was using GAIA and it appeared to be a through road as you show there. Also as you stated, there were absolutely no "no trespassing" or private property signs where the gravel turns to unmaintained.
Whole-heartedly support double-checking for private ownership in places, however, I think you're mistaken here. Both GAIA and OnX show the route as a right-of-way through land owned by Scenic Vistas, LLC. Signs at either end indicate that high-clearance vehicles be used...that's it. The only...
I have electronics that use Google/Apple/Gaia maps and a Gamin satellite navigation device, which I use primarily for roads. But…I always have “old school” maps, too. The 50-state Rand McNally resides in the seat back pocket and I have trail maps for many National Parks, forests and wilderness...
...a poorly timed ****, and we had to drive with the windows down for the 400 miles total we travelled. With how simple it was to find a trail on Gaia, pack, drive 2-2.5 hours, and get a bit of hiking, camping, and offroading together, we agreed to begin doing these kind of weekend trips to...
And on that note: For all you Gaia users, I converted all routes to tracks, removed all the turn waypoints, and color coded all bypasses, attractions, fuel stops, campsites etc. This one (should) read much better in Gaia. All credit still goes to OP. Thanks again!
...we got closer it was obvious that we would make it with some room to spare.
I am not familiar with the names of the different sections. We had GAIA maps on a tablet with the Georgia Traverse mapped out and waypoints, but had great difficulty getting it to work 100%. I guess we should have...
...we discovered a few things that need tweaks to work better:
New Android tablet for navigation (our cheap $100 generic one we bought to try out Gaia a few years ago has worked but it has run its course, so it's time to go with a better model)
Upgrade the wiring from the engine compartment to...
...Polebridge, MT looking into Glacier NP.
"Ball iz lyf!" Lunch stop....uhhhhhhhhh...somewhere on our way to Devil's Tower (too lazy to break out GAIA and look).
"Scooz me. I likez pancakez wif bacon."
Pre-warming my wife's sleeping bag in the RTT on a chilly night in Vermont on the way...
