Yes, definitely. The factory Subaru crossbar set will not be adequate for the RTT. I am currently debating between a Thule & Yakima set of straight bars, but have not yet pulled the trigger on either set. Input is appreciated if you have any.
Tepui Kukenam Sky. I debated the Yakima Skyrise but with comparable pricing and some pretty negative reviews on the Yakima build quality decided on the Tepui.
2013 SH Forester here. My build is almost 'complete'. hahah, never! Ordered a rooftop tent which will replace this roof basket for an upcoming month long road trip out west. Skid plates, Yokohama Geolandar GO15 tires and other mods complete. Time to put everything to use and actually get out there.
I operate within the confines of the law, so yes, that is important information. Can you please clarify why it would be illegal to use a single unit to transmit and receive on CB and HAM frequencies when CB has no requirement for licensing?
I am guessing that you are assuming the output...
Thanks for that. I was unaware. I got a very good deal on a CB so I'll run with it until I purchase and install a HAM radio, however I will now definitely look for one that is capable of CB and eventually nuke the CB and associated hardware. Great info, cheers.

Update:

One of the reasons I so quickly became an OB member was the concept that '...it doesn't matter what you drive.' I really enjoy the concept of a helpful community of people sharing adventure, not just an X car community. Of course there is specific knowledge to be gleaned from specific...
Just ordered a full set of skid plates for my 2013 Subaru Forester. 3/16" aluminum front skid plate, 3/16" aluminum diff cover & 1/8" aluminum plate for my transmission. Plus I threw in a Fumoto valve and off road lock for the valve to make oil changes a breeze.
Next is the finalization of my...
Having just gotten back into backpacking and learning a few lessons many years ago I can say the most important thing for me is a comfortable, lightweight pack that fits your specific frame / body very well. For me that pack is the Granite Gear Blaze AC60 (Men's Medium).
There is nothing that...
