    Skywarn Spotter training

I know I plan on doing my spotter class this year. Luckily they do both classes together where I am at.

Have a vanity license plate? Let's see it!

I have COWBNGA on mine. Doesn't really pertain to anything though.

    Border to border trail mn

I really hope this takes off! It would be a great to get to do that and then go do the T.W.A.T. along with it. Just would add to the fun.

    Trasharoo or equivalent

I know the straps on a Trasharoo are super long. They worked on my sides on the truck. Since I lack a tire carrier or tailgate.

US West Pelican 45 Qt. Wheeled Cooler

I converted over from my larger Yeti coolers to Pelicans and wouldn't go back. They are so much better for the reasons you stated. I'm sure you'll be able to get this sold.

    Overland rally

I plan on making the Ozarks Overland Rally this year as well! It looks like a great time.

    Illinois/ Wisconsin

Get yourself a Delorme atlas if you're going to do it. I wouldn't do it any other way. I was running a Garmin 64ST along with the atlas and it was great but you had to be zoomed in super far to see your roads most of the time. Taught my fiancé how to navigate better on the trip. I also hilighted...

    Illinois/ Wisconsin

Depends on what you expect out of it. I drove 5 hours to get to a starting point in Galena, IL and then drove up and did the trail in 3 days of rain and 35-45 degree weather late last fall and drove the 9 hours home on the last day after making it to Superior since my buddies RTT was soaked and...

    help me decide

SA does have some downfalls as well though. It all depends on what you want to use the truck for exactly. I mean if it's me I would probably go built Tundra. One thing I hate about the Ram 1500s we have at work is the hump on the passenger side floorboard. Not sure though if that's a problem in...

    help me decide

Well I guess the biggest thing you got to decide is if you want a truck that is pretty much ready to go out of the box (PW) or if you want a truck that you make your own (Tundra). Another big thing to consider is IFS vs SA.

    Illinois/ Wisconsin

I know you said that you were trying to get ahold of the Ambassador. That might be hard to do right now since the MW is currently looking for an Ambassador. The MW area of OB seems to have a lot of events over in IN, so it would be great if we could get some things done over in IL, WI, MN, or IA.

    Trasharoo or equivalent

Like I said a lot of those stories are by people who leave them on and they get UV damage and exposed to the weather non-stop. Plus there will be more stories out there since they are overwhelming the choice used by most.

    help me decide

I'm a Toyota guy, however I do have a soft spot for Power Wagons. Are you looking at getting a TRD Off-Road Tundra? If so you might be better off getting an SR5 and then upgrading the suspension and doing the locker. Toyota has reliability and lots of aftermarket support for overland...

    Light bars

It varies by each state. Like mentioned there are states that they have to be covered by an opaque material so they cannot shine through if you turn them on. There is typically no requirement as to mounting height.

    Trasharoo or equivalent

If you're going to remove it after every use, then you might as well go with the tried and true Trasharoo. They only seem to have durability problems if they are left out to be weathered. I run a Trasharoo on the side of my bed where it gets hit by mud, tree limbs, and soaked in rain/snow and...

    Trash

I second using a trasharoo and 2 bags. Then disposing of the bags at locations that will allow you. Typically gas stations seem to be cool with you doing it. The only issue you will hear about with trasharoos are the fading of the color if they are left out to sunbleach and weather non stop...

What type of winch is everyone using?

I'm running a Warn Zeon 10-S on my truck. I haven't had to use it as much as I would like to justify having it, however it does provide me some sense of confidence when I am wheeling alone. I have a hi-lift as a back up as well.

    Bad Behavior During the Shutdown

I agree that overlanders and those who actually respect the outdoors are definitely going to feel the pain from those who are abusing the parks. It sucks to see people going to these beautiful places and having a complete lack of respect.

    General Tire X3

I have had my X3s for awhile now too on my daily (15,000+) and I think they are exceptional in performance for being more of a MT tire. They seem to work great in the mud, no issues in rain, snow they have been great, but I haven't used them in sand much. They are surprisingly quieter than I...
