Trip number 2 went well. 2 nights in the Cherokee National Forest. Added a table to the kitchen, which was really nice. Made a list of to do's and things to buy.
The wife, son and dog LOVE it up there, super cozy. A bit of a pain to get out of to pee in the middle of the night, but not much...
Only second time out with the trailer this weekend. Added the 4' fold out table which helped a lot. Still have A LOT of work to do. Made a bunch of notes this weekend. Will be reading this entire thread for ideas. Food storage in right side of silver box on the front. Kitchen stuff in...
Thanks for starting this thread. This has been on my mind.
Historically I have been a hole pooper. But I tend to agree there are too many people out there pooping poorly and I do not want to be a part of it. Maybe on a backpacking trip in the middle of nowhere but even in dispersed camp spots...
I just bought one as well. Only have a couple deployments on it and while I would not call it easy to pack up, it seem to be managable. The last time I put it up it went pretty smooth. I did add zipper pulls to it the first time I used it because I was struggling a little. But so far so...
So I am looking at getting a GMRS radio. But at this point it seems a bit like a novelty to me. Don't really have plans to go to any rallies, just too busy raising a 10year old and pursuing other things.
We do go out on adventures with friends and family, it would be nice to have a more...
Thanks!
The scissor jack works well. I think gas struts would be pretty nice too, and if you are going custom I would look into that avenue as well.
We are taking it out for a fun adventure this weekend, will post up some pics.
Hey TN folks!
New to OB. I am in Chattanooga. When we head out we go to Cherokee NF, usually around the Ocoee and Tellico area. Just got a new to me 08 Tacoma and adventure trailer so we plan on getting out a lot more this spring and summer. Headed to the Tellico area this weekend for a...
Yeah, it is pretty light, hopefully not too light. Time will tell about the trailer and my welds  Yeah, we are in Chattanooga. We head up to the Ocoee and tellico area a lot. Headed up to Tellico this weekend.
Hello from Chattanooga!
Not sure I would call myself and overlander, but I love to camp in off the beaten track kinds of places so maybe I am. We have been using my wife's 2wd Renegade as our adventure vehicle for the last 3 years. Which with 3 of us and a dog is quite a feat. Getting all of...
I make these bow saws, I carry one of these with me. They will wear out a 4 to 6" log, right through it! This is one I made my brother a couple of years ago for xmas. Might be my nicest one yet
.
I have also been known to just bring my small chainsaw when I am staying local.
We went on a road trip and visited 4 National parks last summer. We had a 4th grader in the car (actually a rising 4th grader) and we got in free to all of them!!
They did not card him, so if your kid looks close to 4th grade you can probably get one. He loved to make the joke that we owed...
Our 45 lb. blue heeler slept in our tent with us. Now that we have a RTT she sleeps up there as well.
We have only done 1 trip with the RTT so far and I just lifted her in and out, not ideal but it works. I have 2 ladders for our tent, might convert 1 into one of those ramps.
Our 4 year old rambunctious blue heeler has been on every camping trip with us since we adopted her at 8 months. As a matter of fact she slept in our RTT for the first time a couple weekends ago and did great. Now just need to figure out a better way to get her in and out of the tent.
We took...
