    Rude? Yay or nay

I grew up around LA and still live in it's burbs. I don't think it's living in the city, it's people being self centered and dicks. There was a guy that ran cattle buy our house, his place was away from everybody, he was a rude, pain in the butt. There are givers and takers in this world, nice...

    Rude? Yay or nay

Was it rude, absolutely, Are you giving them to much energy ? Yes also. A guy cuts you off while driving and you spend the next 10 miles deciding what level of hell he deserves and how to get him there. Meanwhile he just going to wherever. Who is better off? Certainly not you!

Trying to make overlanding more enjoyable for a family of 4

My wife had never camped until se met me. I started her off camping with showers and flush toilets, 3" egg crate pads (before Threm-a-rest ). Made sure we ate well and she didn't have to do anything she didn't want to. Three years later she was dry camping in remote Baja. It was a series of...

    Skeleton Rack vs Camper Shell

I have both. I have a rack that fits around my shell. It looks like a contractors rack that sits over the shell. Mine is custom super long 12 1/2 ft with 5 cross members, the 10' long 6" EMT tube holder for long skinny stuff adds to the look. I carry a kayak, surfboards, fuels, on the rack. I...

Does anyone take mountain bikes on overland trips?

Sometimes I'll take the bike, I like my toys and use them while overlanding. I ride daily while at home so I kinda hate not to take it. Most of my trips are water based.

    Getting started…

Welcome from So Cal. I would not be spending a ton of money as you start out. Go get out first, what you get today, maybe not be the thing that fits your style. Water Management

I have 4 each 2Gal, heavy industrial fluid containers, (they are 35 years old) I also carry 5 gal containers, I have a bunch. Depending on how long I'll be away from resupply determines how much I'll carry. I plan on 2.5 gals+/- per day, it's more than I use. I also use the cooler water for...

How much to spend on a Overlander?

I'll steal a line from Mike Doyal (surfer) "The best overlander is the guy that is having the most fun".

    New cooking pots and pans

I just received Wealers nesting pot set, Wow Just Wow! I replaced a 30 year Coleman pot set, that isn't made anymore. It was good for a lot of years but the handles started to fall off. These pots are great, they have a thick bottom for even heat flush lids. They are big enough to feed 4 easily...

I use those hard rinse tubs, they pack in my camp box and hold the coffee pot, dish soap, Pot kit, lighters they sit on top of the frying pan that is inverted (top down) over the plates and flat strainer. The rinse and wash are different colors to keep them straight.
