I think your better off to have a dedicated set of snow tires. Personally I’m currently running a studded set of GY Duratracs in the winter. (No much available in 35” actual snow tires) Allowing me to run MT’s in the summer for wheeling.
Mt’s are aweful for winter use except maybe deep snow...
I’ve never used my awning as a tent but don’t see that as an ideal situation if it rains. Yes you can slope the awning to drain but that can still puddle some. Also I don’t see the walls taking the wind as well as my RTT.
Wall would probably be great until the weather got bad, or bugs and...
I just noticed that 20” BD bar already there. Have you simply tried a spot lens in that? I would hope the 4 other wide pattern lights in the bumper would satisfy that need.
That light on paper has basically has same raw lumens as my pair of LP9’s. Beam patterns may very a little.
I don’t have to deal with hot humid nights often or even hot for that matter. But I’ve always found the best way to keep myself cool is to sleep on an air bed of some sort as the layer of air below you generally will not hold heat. Cots will do basically the same. I just don’t camp in anything...
I never used the winter cover and have since closed up shop on my OffRoad business. Tepui has since began to offer an interior insulating liner. My initial thought is that it would create a lot of condensation but have no experience.
Since closing up shop I’ve sold my Tepui and picked up a...
I’ve been running the standard MT45 for over a decade. Solid work horse. Transit bag adds roughly a day of use based on my set up.
Hard to go wrong with an Engel.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my PowerTank regulator was sensitive enough at low pressures as to not over pressure my homebrew kegs in camp.
All trail leaders at Cruise Moab have carried spill kits for a long as I can remember. I used one once on Metal Masher when a truck broke a diff cover.
I like the 5gal bucket approach but simply don’t have that kind of space to dedicate on Overland trips.
I do carry a pair of nalgen type...
I’ve been involved with an exhaust jack (ARB X-Jack] on two vehicles, a FJC and an FZJ80. Both were ledgey trail conditions. Both times it worked flawlessly. I would buy one based on my experiences.
I still use a 60” hi-lift for my heavy truck but I have bumpers and sliders to work with. The exhaust jacks work good for tire changes if they have enough lift for the vehicle. My OEM bottle jack still works fine I’m I’m on flat ground. That new ARB jack looks cool but it’s too rich for my...
IH8MUD.com is your best source for LandCruiser info.
You posted HJ85 and now HJ80? If the vehicle in question is an “H” whatever it’s a diesel. If gas it will start with “F”. FJ80 or FZJ80. LandCruisers don’t really have a trim level in the US. They all come pretty much loaded with a couple...
The point Jeff made is valid. The circuit was designed to carry a specific load. If you increase it by adding multiple bulbs you could have issues in time. If the original rear cab light was a standard bulb you could swap it for LED and add additional LED bulbs in the topper and stay within the...
I have one and it will eventually go on a FJ40 project. If it fit in my 80 series bumper I’d probably be running it now.
Faster, more rope, lots of upgrades out there.
