I had onX for 2 years, switched to Gaia a year ago but as of a month ago I now have both. OnX is great for finding public/popular trails but Gaia is so much better for routing and finding those off grid routes.

Personally I don't care if it does or doesn't, it's up to each of us to choose to be with or without. I like having service so I can update maps or reroute without having to always download an area before because sometimes plans change. I also like not having to have 15 memberships to be safe...

You will enjoy Glacier and I think you will be taking 93 down threw Missoula on way to stanley. I would recommend stopping in Missoula aand doing the quick hike up the "M" trail. Great views over the area and cool to see ripples on the mountains from Glacier lake Missoula.

Wow great information. I've heard of trails offroad but till now never used and it's very helpful. Lots to look at and figure out now. lol

Whats your route threw idaho and montana? You looking for back country or senic byways?

I would so like a route going hitting these passes and towns with little backtracking. I was just looking at the alpine loop, not sure yet if thats part of what you mentioned but we are game to enjoy high mountain adventures while on this journey. I think black bear will get me to telluride...

We explore these areas every weekend as well and plan to this summer as much as work allows. going to do part of the IDBDR in july and knock that section off my bucket list.

I use a piece of a truckers lumber tarp I cut to cover my whole bed for the longer ow weather possible trips. I also use it for my ground tarp so it's a win win in my gear set up.
