Land Rover LR4 Build Thread -JayMac “codename EX1”

Those look mean, I like 'em! The sidewall looks extremely textured/tough and perfect for airing down. If I need to get new tires before I go to 18" I'm definitely doing these. As always, I look forward to hearing how they work when aired down to 15psi...and to a much lesser extent how they do...

Land Rover LR4 Build Thread -JayMac “codename EX1”

Light bar looks awesome, I honestly didn't even think about placing bar on bumper...genius! If you don't mind I might steal your idea. Also, let me know how the Atturo's are, I like their beefed up sidewall, but didn't know much about them. Thanks for posting, keep 'em coming. That's funny...

Land Rover LR4 Build Thread -JayMac “codename EX1”

JayMacLR, Congrats on the rig, it's good to see a Land Rover in it's natural habitat! I too have a black LR4 (2012) and I absolutely love it! I've been slowing building as well. There are 6 of us (me, the wifey, and 4 kids ages 5-10) and the LR4 has been more than capable for pretty much...

    Alabama Hills - March 30 - April 2

Shazar, I just got word that one of my wife's best friends from back east is flying into LA Easter weekend and wants to meet up along the coast. So, as much as I hate to do this, I have to cancel the Alabama Hills portion of our trip and instead head west Friday night. Sorry about...

    Alabama Hills - March 30 - April 2

Shazar, SuperSeven, I haven't heard from anyone on the board regarding this trip, but I'm taking the family to Alabama Hills Friday night (March 30) and camping throughout the weekend. I'm driving up to Cerro Gordo Ghost Town on Saturday and then hanging out doing the Easter thing on Sunday...

    Joshua Tree National Park

Touge, good to hear from another LR member. Tip Top and Rattle Snake definitely look doable and fun. These are great tips, thanks. Also, did you add a lift (ie Johnson Rods) with the 275/65s or do any cutting/modifications to make them fit? The next big project for me will be switching to...

Bzuni, saw your Alabama Hills post and wondering if your group is maxed out or if my family and I can meet up with you guys. I'll be driving back north from Joshua Tree on 30MAR and think my wife and 4 kids (ages 5-10) would have a blast spending the weekend out there. -Jon

Good info, thanks. I'm swinging by Tactical Rover to pick up some sliders on the way down, so should be fun.

    Alabama Hills - March 30 - April 2

Hey guys, I'm taking the family (4 kids ages 5 - 10) down to Joshua Tree and Calico Ghost Town the week of 27-31MAR and think an Easter weekend, egg hunt, ghost town & some trails in Alabama Hills sounds like an unforgettable experience. Do you have any more details/itinerary?

Bundi3180, we are taking pretty much the same trip and I would be interested in your feedback, especially regarding the trail from Pioneertown to Big Bear... Thanks.

With a $1100 budget, what upgrades from stock would you get?

Absolutely agree. It's priority dependent...camping, trails, traveling, etc. For me, recovery and sustainability always come first for peace of mind. - Winch: Harbor freight has winch for ~$200. Buy winch accessories one at time and find good deals on amazon. - Water and fuel...

    Thoughts on trip to Moab?

Just returned from Moab with two boys (8 & 7), my brother in law and his son (8)...Unbelievable! Three days and didn't even scratch the surface. I can't answer all your questions and I'm no seasoned pro, just an excited novice, but hopefully some of this will help. Camping: highly recommend...

Michael, I signed up for OTG as soon as I got the email, which was literally moments ago. However, during sign-up, the system wouldn't allow me to sign in with email address. I purchased a ticket as a guest as I didn't want to miss out. Just letting you know I'm already an OB member, so if...

    "Off the Grid" Fall 2017

As a member living in Kentucky, west-coast excursions are usually not feasible, thus a regional-based event is an exceptional idea...thanks Corrie. Michael and Corrie have the unenviable task of planning this, but like everything else they do, it will be a well-planned/organized event that will...
