Depends who installed it and if you trust the welds, or hardware it's mounted with. What is it mounted to? Hopefully the frame. Is it a Class III hitch, or just a 2" square tube receiver?
Hello everyone! I'm planning a trip for Team Hunt next July and would love to get you input for this section of their trip. Hunt's dad, @Trailspin, and I are in the rough planning stages. The trip will be about 3.5 weeks long, starting in Vancouver, over to the island, up to Whistler, maybe...
I started with a Tuffy drawer in the back of the D2. It's meant to fit between the tire wells of a Jeep, so it was a little narrower than I'd like, but it worked well. I covered it with a wood platform and added a couple anchor points near the edges. Once I got the ARB fridge I knew it was time...
I think it's fine to shop around and use off brand stuff for personal items like camping equipment, clothes, etc. But, the one area I never compromise on is purchasing quality recovery equipment.
Know this from the start, the Hi-Lift Jack is an inherently unstable tool. Get familiar with the main parts and what it feels like to both lift and lower a load. Keep your head and any body parts from getting in between the arc of travel of the Handle and Standard.
When jacking up, the pressure...
I post a lot of knowledge here on the forums and on my Instagram feed. In fact, I just made a post about re-spooling your winch cable for the first time after getting a new winch. I'd like to find a way to teach these types of classes in other regions that makes sense financially.
Please make sure you re-spool the entire winch cable under tension before using it for your first recovery! This will help "set" the steel cable to the curvature of the drum, and prevents the cable from slipping between gaps on lower layers. This can cause binding and crush the cable, possibly...
I have, but it wasn't inside the truck. I was with the Deadman Offroad guys in Pismo getting familiar with their product and one of our trucks was getting winched up a dune. During the stuck assessment I guessed the angle was 30*. We stuck the phone on the slider and it read 29*. Pretty good...
You could try Google Docs too. Unfortunately hitting Ctrl+A (to select all) and then copy/paste will grab everything on a page. That includes the Calendar text on the right, all the profile info, buttons, and images. It also copies the formatting, so text and background colors are included. You...
Hey thanks @Road! I have a tube of graphite powder too. I've only used it on the back door of the garage, but will try it out on the locks instead of the silicone spray this time.
I just use a couple pipe clamps with a bolt welded to them. The Standard is sandwiched between some old poly shock bushings to keep the rattling at a minimum. In the driver side door pocket, there is a small bag of tools that see the most use. That includes a 3/4" wrench to get the nuts off for...
