Good evening, I finally got a route built in Gaia and need to figure out how to upload it to you all. We did have one person cancel so another spot has opened up.
For those coming from the Sacramento area, I did some more checking and with Hwy 108 now open it routes us along that route instead...
...16th of August. Which leaves me with 12 days before Calgary, and 9 days after to head back to Vancouver.
I've been looking at a number of blogs, gaia GPS, online BRMB maps etc. but since i'm new to this i couldn't really figure it out yet.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
What we are...
...cool side trips too. Succor Creek/Leslie Gulch is nice country, with lots of side tracks you can take.
One of my first gear suggestions is maps/Gaia GPS/etc. You can figure out places you want to go and find your way in (and out) that way.
Carry more food and water than you think you need...
I extensively use the forest service interactive map in addition to Gaia when planning my trips. Zoom in, click on a feature (road, campground, etc) and a window will pop up with more info.

I created my OnX map off someone else's Gaia map. You can see my OnX map here: onX Offroad
That file/map can't be modified. But you can get a free or paid OnX map and then trace over my map and customize it like you want. I've got some sightseeing and food spots highlighted, and a couple camping...
These are great questions.. in addition Another great resource for exploring public lands is the Bureau of Land Management website: Home | Bureau of Land Management. It provides information on BLM lands across the US, including recreation opportunities, maps, environmental education and ways to...
That’s an hilarious response! I’m sure all the travel aids come in very handy for those with time lines. There’s a famous line from an old science fiction movie, “Time? There is no time in space “ Cmon, passé is a cool word is it not? Then again, I do prefer single malts over straight up...
...find neat camp locations, and provide awesome routes that one could never find using Google Maps or a printed map. I like to plan my routes in Gaia so that I can enjoy the trip without worrying about where I’ll end up. Plus, I can ask it to find a camp spot to avoid all the folks that use...
The entire area around Ponca is really beautiful. Eden falls is near there. Its a water fall inside a cave. Ive hiked the entire Buffalo river trail, including most side trails and you cant go wrong with any of them.
Might also check out Whitaker point. Really cool…
The family and I are going up to Yellville for a few days. Not camping but more glamping, as we will be in a cabin. What are some good trails or other P.O.I. in the area? Im from TX and RN Gaia is not my friend :)
Great area, last time I camped up there I didn't have GAIA so never saved any of the sites I found. I do have this one saved. You had to do a steep climb to get to the top but we did it, barely, in a Ford Escape lol. 64 Doens't have a ton of dispersed options and the last time I was up there...
...what I've been told (no first hand experience) so just be prepared (I know turning around can be a chore with a trailer, so either be prepared to back up to a spot if needed, or keep an eye on recent imagery on OnX and/or snow levels on GAIA so you can make an informed decision for your routing)
