I'm not going to read the entire thread, but if it hasn't been covered when switching from Cable to Synthetic, be sure to switch from a Roller Fairlead to Hause.
Otherwise your synthetic rope will fray and break due to grooves in the roller fairlead.
Personally I like the Smittybilt Element Ramps better, the X-Bull feels more sturdy but that's because of the Polymer it's made with, the MaxTrax or Smittybilt or TredPro will last longer.

My choice was easy, I went with Multiple Mitsubishi Montero's for my rigs, I love the toyota's but I hate the price. The Montero & 4Runner Share ALOT of the same qualities but the 4Runner I just couldnt justify the price.

I have also used the Maxxtraxx and I prefer smittybilt. Pm me if you want a cheaper then retail price.
I personally don't like to go out with only one vehicle, however if you have satellite or phone service then there's different apps you can use to track your trail route.
I've used my rear receiver winch mount to get my self out of a potential roll over at an offroad park here in florida.
One other item I like to use a an anchor, when no tree's or other items are available.
