Ive got a co-worker we installed a bds lift kit. I want to say 5" kit. BDS is super high quality and keeps near factory steering geometry. Matched with coilovers and it even rides better than factory. I tend to steer people away from rough country as they dont seem to do as much r&d, rough...
That is a beautiful truck! They offered 7,900 ill gladly bring you $10,000 in whatever paper form you prefer... 5's 10's 20's 50's or 100's you pick and tell me a location i can come Monday. Regardless of miles.
The solenoids are a common thing. No concerns. Keep the oil changed and drive it. The main things we see on that generation malibu is constant airbag lights / solenoids / and if not properly cared for trans issues / wheel speed sensors (shit design)/ and also EVAP solenoids if you dont know how...
Really wish they were the same way today.
Look at a newer 5.3l ls based motor with active fuel management... dont change the oil every 3k say hello to lifters collapsing/ rings sticking... no good. I do ATLEAST 3 re-ring or piston jobs a month on ls motors under 100,000 miles and AT MINIMUM...
Dont raise to much concern just dont let anyone slam the doors in the summer haha. I think its a factory defect on SOME trucks. Maybe not all but ive seen it SEVERAL times on 14's and a time or two on newer ones. But you didnt hear this from me hahahaha
Amsoil makes great fluids i tend to use Motul for all my fluids front to back as i have a buddy who is "sponsered" by motul (370z time attack car) and he gets me GREAT deals. Beats amsoil prices by a mile and i tend to have it next day at latest.
As a service tech i have been told by gm...
Nothing wrong with a v10. Have a buddy with a REAL NICE v10 with a turbonetics rear mount turbo. He didnt do it for "performance" so to speak he gets EXCELLENT fuel economy out of it. Ill have to find his build thread you will get a kick out of it. Ill try to send it in a message when i find it.
Do you have a power rear sliding window? If so use caution on days with extreme heat. Weve been having ALOT of issues up in the carolinas with 14-16 silverados specifically with power rear glass blowing out in high temps when all windows are up and a door is shut "hard" the pressure change...
Its entirely possible to make 300,000 on most all oem drivetrain components if properly maintained. My lexus we just sold to buy my wifes new corolla (mommy dd) was just shy of 300,000 on original motor and transmission with a very meticulous service history. Had a 1987 FORD F-150 go about...
I had a 2013 Silverado Crew cab i fully intended to trade in on a diesel colorado... drove the first one our dealer got and wasnt impressed... so i sold the Silverado and bought my frontier. Best move ive ever made... dont get me wrong i miss that v8 power and huge interior space but i dont miss...
Mike g. The diesel colorado is already out. Have had a few issues out of them replaced a turbo last week on one with under 5,000 miles. Not nearly as bad as the 3.6 v6 they offer. The diesel colorado starts in the high 30's low 40's id walk before i spent that on a colorado.
Didnt really see any maintenance related posts so i figured id start one.
How picky about fluids (brand) and how often do you service your fluids?
My 2015 Frontier just hit 15,000 and i bought it with under 10,000 miles. Today i did an extensive amount of service on her. Maintenance as...
As a Nissan guy who plays with alot of toyotas i can assure you they are MORE than capable. On the flip side of that I love 4 runners and tacomas but i chose the frontier based an months of comparing / research. I personally know the 2012+ frontiers are super reliable IF well maintained. If i...
