Be very careful with that hitch if it's just welded flat to the bumper. The welds don't look bad but there is a lot of force on that one spot that can cause issues. Good job though
I don't think the height of the extra tire is going to make or break anything but I would definitely add some rocker protection if you can. From personal experience the more you can drive over, the more you will push it and at some point a rock or a stump will grab ya.
That being said, I don't...
Does it work outside of the US? I have access to a similar map system here via paid membership but it's not as detail. They used to have lengths and estimated completion time noted on it but for some reason they ditched those bits of info.
We used to order direct from omix-ada ( mother company of rugged ridge, alloy USA, outland, and probly some other ones I forgot lol). Trying to deal with them was a pain.
I worked at an off-road shop for about 8 years and got asked what was legal and what wasn't alot. The general manager's wife was a police officer so he pretty much had the highway traffic act memorized and I was well on my way lol. He drove a 90... Something jeep yj that was comp cut, stretched...
Also never heard of stubby bumpers being illigal. There is nothing written in the Ontario Highway traffic act that states anything about it. Fender coverage yes, which the wording is very unclear and basically leaves it up to officers discretion, and lift and tire sizes in Quebec and BC o...
I would say the best spot would be on either side of the spare on the tire carrier if you can. I plan on doing something similar to mine and asked myself the same questions, my spare blocks out almost my whole window anyway but my concern was the added weight on the carrier as it's only rated...
I've never really thought about the compass not having low range until this lol. that being said I havn't had the time to really test it out on any trails. I have been using my TJ for camp trails and the Compass for campgrounds lol. I have a trail or 2 I would like to try but they are about 3-4...
packing an infant, dog, and wife into a Compass is ..... challenging. especially since my wife likes to bring the largest tent she can find, and the baby has a bed for the tent, outside, and his own camp chair lol.
I used JKS disconnects for years with no issue. Finally switched to an antirock sway bar in the front last year but that was only because I got a deal on a lightly used one from a friend.
Like others said, make sure to be on flat ground when disconnecting or reconnecting to make it easier ( I...
Welcome from the great white north! PA is a nice spot to be! I took my TJ to rausche a couple years ago and have been a couple times with my wife. Not too bad a trip from central/northern Ontario.
I had a very similar one back in collage. Unfortunately I totaled it on the highway in -45 weather because of some black ice. Luckily help wasn't too far away
Hi Brian, check out the OF4WD of you havnt already. They have maps with trails for 4x4s with challenge ratings and condition changes. Asside from them, I have been to some pretty nice spots around Calabogie, Ardbeg, around the Kawarthas and Lake or Bays area. Been looking into checking out the...
