My new mini is the single best investment I made in a while. I like being completely off grid and hesitated about getting this. Its come in handy a few times so far. The best thing is I subscribe then turn off the subscription when I get back. I have a month before it runs out. I turn it back on...
Reading their site, this option would have you put the tent on after the top was down. That would be an issue if you needed to put the top up for whatever reason while you were out. You would have to remove the tent and store it with the top up.
If you were looking for something that allowed...
My old spring held up for a bit. Later when I replaced them, one of the main leaf's was cracking. You couldn't see it until I tore the spring pack down.
Found some with the internal control board. Huge hit or miss. Reviews say it either works or doesn't. Unfortunately, no one posts who's heater they have. UGH
Do you have a link to who makes upgraded boards? That sounds like something I want to do. One of my buddies had his board burn out after a year. That may be an alternative to replacing the unit.
I just watched their video, that Bureck unit is exactly what I need. That also means I need a new heater. My 5k is too much for my trailer, I was (one day) going to replace it wit a 2k. I may do that sooner than later.
Did you stay with the Vevor on your 2k unit?
I use a small Wavian fuel can and this adapter. The link is one I found randomly but the adapter is used for generators. My heater is mounted in a Pelican case. I have the fuel lid and hose stored in there. This way I can keep the fuel can sealed on my rear rack. I keep fuel in the hose itself...
I have to second what reaver said. I have a 5k Vevor and a square drop trailer. I mount the unit ten feet from my trailer, run aluminum tubing to dissipate heat, low fan and 15-20 degree outside, it's about 80 in the trailer. I now have an adjustable "Y" in the line to vent out heat.
With that...
Looks like your on the way to something nice here. Articulating hitch is a must as well as a park brake. If you haven't done it yet, throw some good shocks on it. That was one of my many learning curves with off road trailers.
I've had my M-100 since the late 80's. I picked it up, lifted it and...
I'm seriously impressed with that output for a factory alternator. Good job Jeep. Toyota high end is around 150 depending on what vehicle and options. In my opinion, 150 is minimum if you have dual batteries.
I have been building custom high end alternators for decades. I started doing this back...
Its still working well. As I mentioned, the pump is the key. All three pumps I used had about the same spec's with the German pump being the only one that actually had the rated output. I still haven't killed the battery pack and only charge it when I remember to.
The only change I've done...

Seven years ago we saw a huge jump in the economy. The number of POS vehicles I encountered dropped considerably and the number of new vehicles went up.
When the economy spiked up, the "Overlanding" fad went full swing. The answer to the above question is "Yes"...
I kind of understand the automated AI advertising but all the ones I tend to see are just dumb. If your going to AI spam for your company, at least make sure you target the correct audience. Not real sure what that one is about and I'm not about to click on it.
Thats not what I meant.
Yes their are "old" ones. The reason for the Jeep badge of honor is to promote their vehicles. Toyota doesn't look at it that way.
"IF" they still made a dual solid axle, small vehicle like the 40 series, in America, they may have done something like this.
I have owned several older of both. As much as I prefer Toyota, as @rgallant said, the Toyota is about worn out.
With that said, the choice is more of what you want to do. The Jeep is better hard core, the 4runner is better for exploring.
When you say 60k in mods, that puts you into a diffrent...
For those of you who may be interested, there's an overlanding show in April at Pomona fairgrounds. I went last year and it was great (better than the September one).
Overland Adventure
I don't know why I have such a hard time finding this. Thank you Jeff for the link again. FYI, if you search for the name, the old one pops up. Fortunately Drew posted a link to this one.
