    GPS connectivity help needed

There is no charge for GPS data. The Dual receiver just relays the data to whatever map system you decide on. There may be a charge for the map system to organize, show you that you are lost. LOL Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

So started the roof rack. Cut all the rube, made some plates to weld to and re-enforced the stanchion. Going to take a minute because this is my shop, the outdoors. LOL Zim These will actually go on the inside of the stanchion to weld the tubing to.

Three Years, 60,000 miles, Fifteen States and a lot of fun.

Well it's been a while since I posted here. I'm back to work part time and saving some "boot money" for round two. Headed west next year we hope and can't wait. I've done some short trips but work has me busy and also working on the truck. Mod's never stop. LOL Zim

Is badland recovery gear from Harbor Freight any good?

My winch is a amazon $295, 12.000 lb pull china built workhorse. As I've said before there are NOT 13 winch factories in china. If you take the plastic off the Badlands you will see my winch. Same construction without the FanFair. LOL I used mine almost every day in the Mark Twain National...

Those fancy mapping apps will not save you...

I use a "Dual" brand GPS signal finder and "Bluetooth" it to my ipad which does not have GPS. Confused yet? LMAO I'm making it hard but I did not have the money for a full blown pad. I use onX maps and Gaia. I don't like Gaia at all. Never updates well for me but does okay for basic things...

Those fancy mapping apps will not save you...

Boy Scouts should be mandatory. LOL Paper maps and a compass are very important. Always have been. Mapping apps are far more accurate than you think. Location +/- 3 feet is pretty accurate. Knowing your relationship to the map is paramount. I'd go into large housing subdivision and find your way...

    Auto spare parts

I work for a major "brick and morter" auto parts company. You're not buying parts. You're buying a warranty. If there's no warranty, don't buy it. If you buy it online because it's cheap, be prepared for "warranty" problems, delivery problems, poor construction and the list goes on. Stick with...

Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

That outer tie rod looks really bad and might even have a crack. Lift the jeep off the ground and hold the tire at the 9 and 3 oclock position. Move it side to side. Watch the movement of the bolt as it turns the tire. It will move up and down and look loose if bad. Zim
