Awesome post! Is that spot near Gemini Bridges a "designated site" though? Not supposed to camp along that road except in sites designated with a brown post and tent symbol
How about the Hi-Lift recovery Kit? http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/off-road-kit.html I have one but I've never used it. I need to get a long length of chain to use with it since a recovery strap will just stretch.
Jupiter's Travels. A book by an English guy that went around the world on a Triumph in the '70s. It was an inspiration for Ewen McGregor to do his trip. I think it was what first introduced me to the idea of overlanding. It was years later that I started backpacking and then watched the Long Way...
That's good to know. The only time I really had a problem was maybe 6 years ago now. I had setup just down river from a group and as soon as I sat down for a beer after setting up my tent they let loose a barrage of fire that lasted for at least an hour. It seriously sounded like I was in...
The river was moving way too fast in May so no. I went last year later in the year and the river was real low and glassy. Didn't have any luck but all I saw were tiny fish anyway. I'm not much of a fisherman though so other people may have had better luck.
I know those spots! Went to that second spot back in May. There was a downed tree blocking the trail from all the rains. Cleared it with my winch. Only thing I don't like is all the people that shoot their guns and rev their ATV's at 5 in the morning.
Not sure if insurance covers it. Pretty sure car insurance does not and I only have liability anyway. I have renters insurance but I don't have a receipt for the rack so it's pretty unlikely.
BTW, there is a Baja Rack listed on craigslist right now that is in Sunnyvale. It is NOT mine however...
Hmm well I had to repaint it with Rustoleum Hammered Black spray paint due to rust issues, so that's pretty distinctive. Also there are a couple of indentations on the driver side upper rail from the some quick fists I had mounted at one point. I could definitely ID it but I'm not sure anyone...
Yeah man, seems like a real unlikely crime? I hope anyways. Leaving my rig parked at work in the meantime. It's funny because I have been worried about my catalytic converter, scepter cans, etc. never worried about the rack. I need to get a place with a driveway.
I don't think I can post images yet... <--- did that work? It fits a 4th gen 4runner, the standard rack with 2 side LED's and 2 rears that I just added. Anyways, I kind of doubt that it will end up on craigslist. Seems like such a specialized item. Unfortunately I assume that it is another 4th...
Just thought I'd put out a warning. Came home to find that someone had taken my Baja Rack along with the LED's I recently installed. Was just parked in my apartment complex's lot.
Never thought someone would steal it off my rig. Pretty bummed. Security bolts on the next one?
