Looking at a new used rig tomorrow!

We found a 1996 k2500 6.5 diesel suburban that looks promising. It has 195,000 miles and looks to have been pretty well cared for. Hoping for the best! !

Full size overlanding pros vs cons.

I have to stay truly full size because I am a full-time RVer. Most everything I own is in my Suburban or my 21ft travel trailer.

    Wrenching on their own rigs?

[QUOTE="jim That's an awesome rig! You should check out vintage military vehicle restorers. I'm not sure exactly how to reach them but I know one of their members is John Cowell in Texas. Just Google "vintage military vehicles Texas " You can find lots of good info there and if anyone needs a...

    Strangest Camping Encounters

My now ex wife and I drove to the upper peninsula of michigan for our honeymoon. We headed for Muskallonge state park on the southern shore of Lake Superior. We pulled in about 1 AM and it was raining as hard as I've ever seen so I threw the tent up as fast as I could. It stopped soon after...

Full size overlanding pros vs cons.

We have a 2001 k2500 8.1L suburban. The thing I like about the most is I don't have to mess ass around with a rtt and never having to say "that won't fit so we have to leave it home".

    85 RamCharger "Skeletor"

Nice, you don't see many ramchargers in Michigan anymore with that little rust. I moved to north idaho 4 years ago and have seen a few really nice ones.

I have been looking at Champion wenches lately. The prices seem decent enough, have good reviews, and I have been using a Champion generator for a while now and love it.

    25 Year Import Ban [Action]

Guns are protected by the Constitution. No vehicle of any brand is.... What would be so bad about buying something older here and build it into what you want. You would end up with a perfect vehicle built to your specifications. I think that would be money better spent.

    25 Year Import Ban [Action]

I grew up in the Detroit area and half my family was in the UAW. I am no union fan myself, to independent minded. ..lol I have never really considered an import or know much about them. My question is this , instead of worrying about getting vehicles imported that don't meet safety standards...

Trail Guardian - A Program Worth our Time

Finding old buildings in the woods is why I carry my metal detector everywhere I go. I have found everything from nails to an old potbelly stove, lanterns, harmonica reeds, all the way up to part of a saw from a huge lumber mill.

What makes a rim good for off road?

Andrew is an ass about it in his tire video. He said big tires are only good for looks. He can be so snotty some times, I have a hard time watching him.
