Yeah a bit of a clunk, just make sure to put some 3 in 1 multipurpose oil every 500 miles or so. Keeps the chatter down. Also I’d practice disconnecting them a few times before hitting the trail.
Slight bug regarding importing GPX files. Every time I import a track, If i select Private on the initial creation it does not save that tag. It requires me to edit the trail and make it private a second time before the private tag is applied properly.
Kinda depends on the area, and if you're doing simplex vs hitting repeaters. I have more luck on local repeaters. The only time I hear anything over Simplex is when I convoy with a friend or two. Though I've stopped monitoring simplex frequencies day to day anymore.
I use them all, as they all do certain aspects better in my experiance. Gaia is probably my most heavily used. But I'm starting to use the OB1 app more and more. It's not quite caught up with Gaia yet, but it's getting there.
It's no worries. I'm going to be doing another recording this weekend. So I'll try to snag a video of the error then of when I pause. It was kinda odd that when I paused the second time, all of the tracks that occur after the first resume appeared all of the sudden.
I've had a couple issues with track recording.

We just had one 2 weeks ago, and had a planned trip this past weekend. We haven’t planned the next meetup yet, but keep an eye out for the rally point under the Midwest Region. If I had to guess, it’ll be late April/Early May.
Will do. And yeah I looked at a few of those racks myself. I won't be doing the habitat anytime soon, but you're one of the first I've noticed with one to talk to. Going the alucab topper route for now, but may switch to the habitat later.
