    Duralast Platinum Battery Vs. ???

What was the issue you've had with the Optima Yellow top battery? I've run mine for two year's strong and have had zero problems (including -40 degrees in Alaska), but I've read a few posts about problems with them, so I'm just curious? Thanks.

07 FJ Cruiser Front Shock help

I originally wanted to run the OME shocks as well, but there was a 6 month back log on them, so just went with rear springs, but love those. With a RTT and 20 gallons on the roof rack, I've never bottomed the rear end out yet. Are you running stock UCA & LCA? I upgraded my UCA. but I'm debating...

07 FJ Cruiser Front Shock help

Yeah, that's actually the set-up I'm running, with OME heavy duty springs in the rear. I love the set up and it didn't break the bank. The Fox Performance shocks themselves are pretty reasonable ( $129.00) and a good immediate upgrade on the street and dirt. The springs made the biggest...

So, why'd you buy the overland vehicle you did?

I had an older 4-runner and went out with my buddy in his FJ one time and just fell in love with it. We were trying to get that thing stuck and it just wouldn't. I know people aren't crazy about blind spots and it can be hard to see on some ascending and descending angles, but I've grown so used...

What Camp Saw Do You Use? (Non-powered hand saws)

Haha!! That's good! My buddy won the SOG folding saw and mini-tomahawk at some gun show and he had zero interest in them, so he passed them along. They have both worked pretty well so far. He is like that about Cold Steel stuff. If you say anything bad about them, he freaks out! It's funny.

07 FJ Cruiser Front Shock help

Are you looking for just shocks only? Stock springs? I've had Pro-Comp and Fox 2.0 on my FJ and really liked them both. New springs are pretty reasonable too and make a big difference.

What Camp Saw Do You Use? (Non-powered hand saws)

I have a SOG folding saw that someone gave me. Works pretty well.

Rotopax water packs safe for drinking water?

I've have the drinking containers and have had them for about a year and use them pretty often and I'm still some what normal, so I'd say you're all good!! When I fill up and go out, I usually put a few drops of iodine in them ( 3-6 drops per liter) , especially with tap water and as far as...

    Winch bumpers

I'm really happy with my US off-road set up. I was referring to when I had the ARB on my FJ. I just didn't like the set-up at all. I don't notice the hidden system on at all.

    Winch bumpers

My bad, yes I have coil-overs, so I lumped everything in I guess! We don't have much to hit in Socal, except the occasional family crossing the freeway.

    Winch bumpers

Oh yeah. I had a lot of front end sag, even with aftermarket shocks. I just didn't like it. I don't see the need to add a lot of weight, especially when doing a lot of climbing. I didn't know the LR4 compensated like that. That's pretty awesome. My buddy actually installed front and rear airbags...

    Winch bumpers

I really noticed the difference on my FJ cruiser. It really lowered the front end with an ARB bumper. Since then, I installed the US hidden winch mount and really love it. No front end sag at all. I guess it boils down to the needs of front end protection. I also found the ARB took away my...
