What items do you bring that make the camp/trip experience even better?

My hammock, the right chair, a nip or two of your favorite drink, good coffee. A couple of other things that we like: - Solar Luci lights or Christmas lights (on low) - some project for the kids to do (build a shelter, carve a spoon, etc) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Old Nc 105

Ah, finally looked up 105 on the map. I know this road well, just didn't realize. We've always referred to it as Kistler Highway (KHW). I spend a lot of free time backpacking in Linvillle Gorge, and 105 provides access to the West side of the Gorge. Lots of good spots to camp. If you're willing...

Anyone know of something like this? Thinking of starting a DIY.

It's called coroplast and you can get 4x8 sheets for $15 from Home Depot. It's good stuff and great for projects and prototypes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hammocks

Your welcome to reach out if you don't feel like you're getting anywhere. I've built 20+ hammock setups for other folks and built all of my and my family's setups. You buy the materials and I'm happy to help you get a setup going. Just one wheeler offering to help another. I've had lots of folks...

    Hammocks

The recommended length for your ridge line is 83% the length of your hammock. I haven't had to play around with adjusting, and have found the whoopies for a ridge line to be overkill. A good cord that doesn't stretch should do you. I use 300lb spectre fishing line. Light and strong. Check out...

I've been thinking about building out something like this as well. I found this when searching around for ideas, and thought it was a cool approach. Lots of variations on this out there.

You talking about a few hours or an all day thing with a destination? Can definitely meet up, grab a beer or something like that. If we're headed somewhere need to rearrange some things. Kids and there activities dominate certain weekends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Camp stoves

For $6 at Walmart you can get a safety side cutting can opener. Another dollar for a can of beans. Open, rinse, maybe a couple of vent homes with your drill. There you go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
