Sorry to hear that. There will be more to come.
Some interesting conversations are taking place about even bigger and better. This is a learning experience for everyone but some really cool stuff is being floated. If you are not ready to camp, do what you can to start getting to that...
The first section from Burrells Ford at SC State line to Dillard Ga. will be no problem. The 2nd section may and the Charlie's Creek area may be a problem as well. Sounds like a few may leave the group in Dillard as there is talk about some going just down the road to Tallulah Falls State Park...
If you mean rock as in Rocky trail? No problem. The most you might see is in the river when we cross Tallulah and that is nothing. Water depth 12 to 18 inches.
If the weather forecast holds, it may have rained or could be raining the day of the ride. There is a by pass to the river...
First part from Burrells Ford to Dillard GA. you should be OK. The 2nd leg especially the crossover from Patterson Gap to Coleman River is tight and a 2500 might catch a lot of limbs. My 2017 Tundra got a few lasting marks going down that section.
You'll be more than fine with that setup. It'll be a walk in the park. Looking forward to having you out with us.
As for air down, we did this entire section 2 weeks ago and none of us air'd down at all.
As for recovery gear, if you were planning on getting it even if not on the ride then...
Thanks. The Georgia Traverse map notes this section is subject to closure so I suspect it may only be open during hunting season which Big Game in Georgia just closed. Last month I was in Blue Ridge WMA and every gate was open but going back up weekend after next and expect many of those gates...
I was afraid of that as we went through there 2 weekends ago and Gates wide open. This just means we continue down Patterson Gap to Persimmon and take Persimmon to Tallulah River Rd. In this whole section of the Traverse, I think this crossover from Patterson Gap to Coleman River is the only...
Go back to the very first post announcing the rally and click on the "rally details" button. When rally details open, see the RSVP button on right side of screen. Click on RSVP and then select the option you want.
Hope that helps.
Not quite. That ends the first section but the next section has some areas that are probably 4 wheel only and a little more aggressive trail so I expect some to end their day there and go elsewhere but also I'm planning for some wanting to continue so we'll route around and pick up the Traverse...
We are almost halfway to the 20 rig count so if we hit 20 and more want to come, chime in. We can always add and take the larger group and split it and delay start the 2nd group from the first by 15 to 20 minutes so as not to jam up the trail.
