The knuckles got rebuilt, so while it was apart, I had them upgrade the rotors and calipers from a later 80 series. The difference is pretty noticeable in person.

How do you work out what Catch Can is best for your vehicle based on the pressures produced that will go through it?I'm really hyped on this one; I picked up a 1990 HDJ81—triple locked, 1HDT diesel motor.
The first drive home was 8 hrs, and did it with no issues. It's pretty wild that a 33-year-old truck runs like a dream!

The first thing I had done was a PDI intercooler and trans cooler.

Waiting on gauges, I had to put an EGT gauge in for now so I'm using a GlowShift. I'll be swapping to REDARC gauges hopefully soon. And I have them in a SAAS a-pillar mount.
Also added some One Stone armrests. pretty easy to modify to work with any 80 series.

Most of the stuff on my short list is maintenance. So, I'm currently getting my front knuckles rebuilt. But while they're apart I'll be upgrading to the later 80 series rotor and calipers for some added braking power.

indeed, i am just trusting the aussie shop i talked to about this recently. they said on 1hdt motors its not needed. for FT or FTE more of a reason to run them. but yeah just running it how it was meant to be from toyota. alot of people just run it to the chassis rail and let it coat the inside lol.Interesting, theres so much info out there for and against them.
