Dual Battery and Solar for Subaru

I went with a marine battery from Walmart, as it was just only about $5 more than the HF one, and has 75ah capacity. I ended up with a Renogy Wanderer solar charge controller for now, instead of the MPPT. Figured I would get the cheaper PWM controller for now, and then go with the Redarc DC-DC...

    Eastern Sierra's to the Beach

Hey Everyone! I thought I’d shoot an open invite to all responsible, respectful people to a trip my wife and I are about to go on. I think it’d be pretty cool if we could get a good group going. MY camping plans are: 10/19 – Alabama Hills 10/20 – Yosemite 10/21 – Yosemite 10/22 – Yosemite...

Dual Battery and Solar for Subaru

That's pretty good. I've known a few people with the electric coolers, and haven't seen great results like that. Best I've seen is a Dometic getting it down to about 42F on a 90F day. The others couldn't get into the low 40's until it was in the 60's ambient. We do an unhealthy amount of...

Dual Battery and Solar for Subaru

So I finally bought a fridge. I got the Alpicool C50. It was cheap ($339), had great storage, and dimensions that I thought would work for my existing rear storage. It didn’t. I didn’t account for the rake of the rear window, so the glass hit the fridge and would not allow the door to close. So...

US West Quick 1-2 night trip in SoCal? Feb 8-11? Recommendations?

I love going to Anza Borrego. It would be roughly 2.5-3hr drive from you. TONS of places within to explore. Almost all of the Park is primitive camping. Fish Creek is a favorite of mine, great place to camp for the night.

    SoCal Post Wildfire

I would be willing to help out. I have been wanting to do a trail cleanup for some time now. I normally just bring an extra trash bag and pick up near our camp site and take it home to dispose of.

US West Reoccurring - San Diego Overland Bound Monthly Meet - 09/27/2018

Hey guys! I'm going to have to make it to one of these soon. Next week may not work as I'll be setting up at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pamona and may not finish until late. But I'll make it out soon enough!

EXPO West May 17-19 2019 from SF Bay Area

I'll most likely be going as well, but from SoCal. I will be working in a booth. I was there last year and it was amazing, I don't want to miss it.

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Hey guys, just joined up. I drive a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek with lift, tires, rack, bumper, etc. I love getting out and camping. I've been known to sleep in the Subaru across the street from a perfectly good hotel just because.
