Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

I paid $4k for it. The frame is completely rust free. I think I got a deal.

Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

I believe the guy who owned before the guy I bought it from, lifted the jeep and didn’t put a pitman arm for a 4 inch lift on it. They didn’t replace anything to accommodate the lift at all.

Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

I’m replacing the shocks, inner and outer tie rods and drag link as well. I’m doing a rock jock full steering kit.

Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

Just got back from my local Offroad shop. Got an estimate for a rock jock steering kit, track bar, and new pitman arm. Upgrades will commence in about a week or two. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I have a lot to learn about jeeps!

Repair question on 97 Jeep Tj

So I just purchased a 97 TJ over the weekend. The steering feels really loose. I’m new to the jeep world too. Below are some pics of some bushings on the front end. Can anyone tell me what needs to be replaced to tighten up my steering? All bushings in pictures are trashed but don’t know...

    New rig hopefully!

Well after a month of looking for the right TJ to start with, I found it. Already has a lift and the drivetrain has been beefed up. Now to lock to in the deal this week and pick it up. More to come once it’s in my possession.

    Ohio Roll-Call!

I’m one to keep things as simple as possible. I’m not going to put things on my truck that I don’t need. I mostly plan on doing forest service roads and unmaintained roads but I still want to protect certain things like my oil pan and gas tank. When I build vehicles I build for function. I...

Yakima Lock N Load Flat Roof Rack on an '08 Trailblazer

Thank you for your input. I was also thinking that using a flat rack, the RTT may not go all the way to the windshield so I could use that space for other storage.

Yakima Lock N Load Flat Roof Rack on an '08 Trailblazer

Wow, that’s awesome that it’s that simple. Yea, I’ve already done a lot of research on the pros and cons of a RTT. I don’t plan on getting one for awhile. I don’t mind the tent on the ground.

Yakima Lock N Load Flat Roof Rack on an '08 Trailblazer

Honestly I’m not sure. I’m still new to this community. My trailblazer has the roof rack stuff from the factory. I’m not exactly sure what I would need to put a RTT up there.

I’m pretty new as well. I’m still learning more about it as well. I’m out in Ohio, but I have plans to travel out west in the next year. Especially Montana.
