That's what I thought, looking at the pic but hard to tell since the positive has that jacket on it. Looked like that tag was negative. Would be interesting to know if that's the case, wouldn't think that would cause a draw on the battery.
I don't understand the picture? looks like a wire with a negative tag is hooked to your battery positive? Every winch Ive used the ground wire is black and the positive wire is red, appears to be a cover on the positive wire? I may be wrong but I don't think there's anything on a winch that...
Did you weld in a stub shaft too? Using the lock out to hold the tire carrier would be cool but not sure how bad it would raddle?
You could use it to lock open if on a side hill or something. Neve seen one built with a 4wd hub, just trailer hub parts you might be onto something.
Question 2...
Diggin' the build, thinking about your suspension situation and quick Google search. I found this...

A High Lift is a Jack but I wouldn't ever use it to change a tire unless I was in a real bind. There's just no good way of doing it.
That being said they are good as winches but that requires you to carry more straps or chains as you can't use any type of kinetic or stretchy rope/strap as...
Are the FS roads on the traverse route open in the winter? I was looking at a MVUM and it showed about every road closed from at the latest 12/31 to the earliest being march?
Older thread, I know but wanting to see bumpers pics. To me the winch cradle is okay on a work truck or something but when off-roading how any times have you dragged a hitch or front bumper? If the hitch is buried in dirt or mud your not going to get the winch in the receiver, not without...
