    Ram wheel bearings issues

I have a question those with rams or full size trucks. What kinda life are you seeing out of wheel bearings? I found out mine are not so good after 17.6k miles. Mostly logging roads, mud and desert. I’m debating throwing a new bearing/hub assembly in or going to a Dynatrak free spin kit.

Low Sulfur Diesel Engine or not?

Really it’s the fuel systems and and emission systems that are the problem. But if I were building a vehicle to travel globally I would do a older diesel of gas probably. And I love my diesels a lot but I know I’ll likely not leave a country I can’t find something my truck will take.

That’s to bad for your buddy ultimately most are not having that issue or it would be everywhere how bad diesels are now. Granted most people did have issues in the early days of these emissions.

With that you seam to be talking about mostly smaller engines than even the 6.7 cummins and will definitely agree with you there and even as a fleet truck I can see them not being worth it. As a individual owning a ram truck I’ve still seen very little to say it was a bad choice especially if...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

If you have some facts please link them I literally have find one only article about why they chose gas fleet vehicles vs diesel. Literally everything else I’ve read by techs or engine builders say diesels are typically more reliable even with the emission systems. Now I could see some of the...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

I’ll never agree they are more maintenance or all hotshot drives would use them but they don’t. I could see if I had no experience with diesels but me and every family members diesels have all made high high mileage with very little maintenance. I mean my dad just sold a Chevy that was well iver...

Agreed there. I don’t do the miles you do but hit 30k typically on any given year. To me it comes back to the same thing with even old diesels if you barely drive them and domt work them regularly they will never be worth it:

I’m not going to disagree but when pekoe call them garbage but people get 500k without any issues if they are using the trucks I have to disagree with them. Granted you do hear of a lot of people who just put around town in them have issues and maybe that’s why people end up disliking them. If I...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Literally all you’ve said bad is basically restrictions that were put on by the government. That being said I own a 20 cummins and other than the sucky fuel pump it shares the same motors that people have hundreads of thousands of miles on. Greater most of my diesel experience is with older...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Yes most people as in anyone who mods there car. Ultimately calling modern Diesel engines unreliable is just absolutely not true. People seam to think this and say this and yet you don’t see gas engines making even 250k miles let alone people going on 500k. I’ve used diesels my whole adult...
