I can second @BerettaMato about the OME. I have an OME lift on my Cherokee and it is a little harsh, but the truck is also at stock weight. It'll settle and ride better once I put the tire carrier and front bumper on. I've had them for 2 years and have been happy with them so far. My...

Smitty Built rear bumper Jeep XJ

I've heard that everyone with the long arm kits like them better and the ride really improves. I didn't think I'd wind up liking my XJ so much when I first inherited it so I just put an OME kit on it since most of the suspension needed to be replaced. I'll look into a long arm kit when the time...

Smitty Built rear bumper Jeep XJ

Good to know, thanks for the info. Was the ~1" drop just due to the weight of the bumper and winch?

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

The last thing I bought were 4.10 gears and ARB lockers. Then next thing I'll buy will be my rear disc brake conversion. It's been an expensive winter

@Boort I've had some work done at High Country 4x4 in Englewood. I've been happy with everything they've done themselves, the only less than good experience I had was with transmission install they outsourced. I just had my XJ re-geared there along with ARB lockers in the front and rear. All of...

    Co winter camping

I haven't been out there this winter, but since it's been so mild I thought I'd ask about camping somewhere off of Goose Creek rd by Deckers. This is Goose Creek Campground which may be closed, but there are plenty of dispersed spots out here. 39.171975, -105.359890

    Rinse/Shower kit

@RedRockKY Thanks for the info, I'm going to have to pick one of these up. I like that they fold down and don't take up too much room.

    Rinse/Shower kit

@RedRockKY I was waiting to read a review on the Nemo shower. I've seen them go on sale from time to time at REI and thought about picking one up. Any downsides? I have some of their other gear and it's all held up really well for me.

Week long trek with 5 people - Ideas needed

@Boort I totally agree, not only do we control the ingredients but it's less trash, less expensive and each meal takes up less room. This is the dehydrator we use (top and side view). We run it overnight while we're sleeping so that part doesn't take any additional time out of our schedule...

    97 XJ Build

That looks great! I'm looking into exhaust as well and haven't been able to find the entire system in 2.5". I think I'll have to go to a local shop and have someone with a pipe bender and welder to connect the pieces I can find online.

    Member Map

@Michael Thanks for looking into this. It's been a crash course for me in how the map works and all of the different ways your location could be displayed.

Week long trek with 5 people - Ideas needed

I can get some recipes for you, but my wife and I will make chilis and stews and then dehydrate them. One meal easily fits in a sandwich size ziplock bag, you control the ingredients yourself, definitely stores and travels well, doesn't take up a lot of space. The only cons I can think of would...
