Roof Top Tent on a Topper Shell

So now almost 4 years later I’m curious how it held up? I just ordered the Rebel with the sportsman package myself for my RTT. Did you have any issues with the weight you ended up putting on it?

Welcome, Henry! Honestly from some of your background it sounds like you may have more experience than you think. I’m brand new to overlanding myself but have camped quite a bit. Also have only some limited Offroad experience, nothing super technical. Those ridgelines are super solid! Any...

Cascadia Mt. Hood vs IKamper 2.0 vs Roofnest Falcon XL

That foot strap is a really good idea. It’s so hard to get enough leverage pulling down by the lock straps. I’ve got webbing with hooks so I’m definitely going give that a shot as well.

    1st Gen Tundra (2000 SR5 Access Cab)

Oh dang, I haven’t seen that setup before but it looks solid!! You know I only did an add a leaf and my truck is still under 90k miles but they’re old and definitely got some heavy use by the previous owner. I’m going to have to keep this in mind for when I have to replace the full leaf packs in...

    Coleman Oven

I’m glad to see others had a good experience! We saw them use it on Lifestyle and my wife was all about it haha Wasn’t sure if worked consistently well for others but it appears it does. Anyone have any good recipes they use it for when camping?

    Lets see some trail photos!

This is out in the Cascades. Lake Kachess was super low so we went exploring down in the lake bed. Cold but absolutely beautiful!

Is camping a viable alterantive to hotels when traveling?

100% it’s a viable option. My wife and I did a three week trip through Utah, Arizona and New Mexico for our honeymoon. We camped about two thirds of the trip. We used a hotel only in places it was hard to camp, or when we needed a spot to recoup while we did laundry. We have so many memories...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

A Garmin InReach mini and mounting hardware for my A pillar. Next purchase(s) on my list Is a reinforced camper shell and a prinsu rack so we can get the RTT mounted on my truck.

Where did you install your OB emblem?

Like others, I put it on the front quarter panel. I think it’s a really good spot with the exception that now I need another one

That's a very good point as well. Well it seemed like a good idea for about five minutes haha but I've come back to earth. You're right, It would definitely scale far beyond what's manageable in a very short amount of time since literally any vehicle can be used for overlanding. I sincerely...

Make and Model specific Categories in Rigs Forum

Quick add to that: I could however see the issue for sure if the forum were used as Make/ Model pride forum. I was thinking specifically vehicle specific build info sharing. I could see how it would be tough to moderate it and keep it strictly info sharing and not a "why my vehicle is the best"...
