Now I've been in this thread promoting NOT battle born but my retired parents have battle born batteries in their diesel pusher and they've held up just fine for them. lol They've had those batteries for many years already.
I just always assumed you were paying a big premium for the customer...
Same. I carry the skeletool when I'm out camping or on the trail. Having a pocket screwdriver and pocket pliers ended up becoming more useful than I ever thought it would.
Find a lose screw? No problem.
Hose or exhaust clamp on the diesel heater? The solution is in my pocket.
Tangled and bound...
I use 2x 12v 100Ah "Watt Cycle" batteries based on videos from Will Prowse. I could try to tell you why but you're better off watching his videos.

If the latter, then does that mean "overland" is a product of post modern industrial era where most roads are...
I guess I didn't update the thread but I did get the solar system installed in the trailer.
We did a trip, CA > NV > ID > UT> CO and it really felt like we had unlimited power. Even camping in dense tree cover, the 200w of solar + 200Ah battery setup was enough for our needs to charge all our...
I spend most my time in the mountains with plenty of trees. Never had luck with traction boards and thought my energy was better spent pulling winch line rather than fiddling with traction boards.
Maybe if you're going someplace that doesn't have trees... but IMO nothing worse than being tired...
