Any Tips, Tricks or Cautions for Vertically Mounting ROAM/Pelican/etc. Cases?

So space isn’t the issue. I have 2x 4-gal Rotopax and my propane on one swingout. Dimensionally I know I can get a large case on the other one. My concern is whether the case will survive with just bolts and washers with 50 +/- pounds in it. I don’t feel like plunking down a cool grand for a...

    Dealing with other people's nasty

Sadly it's a growing trend...picking up after people. TP does NOT degrade like people think it does, and animals will quickly scatter it. I always have a box or two of nitrile gloves, and, yes, baggies. Whether it's for used TP, general garbage pick-up, food safety, checking the oil, etc...

Any Tips, Tricks or Cautions for Vertically Mounting ROAM/Pelican/etc. Cases?

I have an Expedition One, dual-swingout bumper on the back of our Power Wagon. In an effort to relocate stuff like recovery gear out of the camper and free up space for other stuff, I'm thinking of mounting a large case (test fitting stuff in a buddy's ROAM 165L) to one of the swingouts...

    WeBoost

You just buy the equipment once. There’s no subscription as you’re not using any infrastructure or service. Other than your cellular provider, obviously.

Opinions wanted on practicality of towing a trailer.

Short answer? I sure wouldn't. 500 lbs in the Pathy? That including the "we" and everything else in there? A quick search reveals a half-decent payload (more than I figured, honestly), but 400+ of that will be taken up by the tongue weight of a 4100-lb loaded trailer. So, realistically, you're...

    What’s your view this morning?

I'd take a pic...but then would get walked out for having my phone in the building. Assuming it's not still covered in snow, this'll be the morning view May 21st, though.

Sure thing! We use one in our camper and I’ll, likely, swap to the interior RV antenna. It’s fine if I’m just using the phone as a hot spot as I can leave it there. But if using my phone I have to move the antenna around or sit in a particular spot.

It'll work just fine. Just beware that the small antennas meant to stick on a headrest or something have a really limited range. You pretty much have to be right on top of it, which should be easy enough to do in an RTT. Don't expect to be sitting outside of it and see any signal, however.

OK...What's With All the Spam Accounts?

The number of fake/spam accounts peddling FENTANYL!?, other ridiculous medical miracles, supplements, and such is nuts. IMO it really degrades legitimacy of the forums. I've reported a number of them, but surely something can be done to force people to create real accounts and thwart bots or...

    Drones Pics and Videos

Spent the weekend at Seneca Rocks, WV camping on some private property well beyond the rocks on Roy Gap Rd. Got some midday shots on Saturday while hiking with my wife and dogs. Then went out and got some shots as the first rays of sun hit the fins on Sunday morning. Just a spectacular place...

    WV travels

Surprised you got anything, but that, likely, explains the intermittent issue. It’s, certainly, an incredible space. I didn’t live in the area at the time, but a buddy of mine that used to climb there decades ago would tell stories of jets doing training runs through the valley. That would be...

A cell booster won't help you. As best as I can recall Seneca is within the National Radio Quiet Zone. You can't boost what isn't there. :grimacing: We're actually headed there this weekend to camp, and I can't wait to be unreachable!

I mean...it's better than THEM coming back alone, right?

    Going it alone, or not?

Wait…you know my mom? Kamikaze trip to Flagstaff from Virginia to pick up my camper and spend just a couple days in Flagstaff with one night in the camper. She was nearly packing her bags in anticipation of going with me as my wife was staying home with the dogs. I took my stepfather instead.

    Going it alone, or not?

90+% of our time...whether on a 4-week trip or a 2-night local escape...it's my wife, me, and our two dogs. We have a very tight circle of folks that we CAN tolerate for multiple nights and many miles, but it's rare that our schedules mesh; particularly on short notice for those quick getaways...
