US East SOLD: 2015 JKU Rubicon Hard Rock - First State Overland Off-grid build - 42K miles

Not at this point. Everything is so integrated with the power systems it would be a pain to part it. It could be done, I'm just not there yet.

Update - just put new brakes and rotors on! Will be at Mid Atlantic Overland Festival in August if anyone wishes to see the rig in person.

US East SOLD: 2015 JKU Rubicon Hard Rock - First State Overland Off-grid build - 42K miles

I'll keep this short since most of the details are already listed on the linked web page. We're selling our overland rig and planning on something larger for full-timing it. I was hoping to sell as a package but the Hiker trailer sold in a day so the Jeep is left. (Located in Newark, DE but can...

Hiker Trailer - anyone have experience with them? (Now Buildout)

I'm 6'5" with a 5x8. The inside cabin sleeping area is 6'5" but I don't sleep straight legged. Doing it over again, I'd do a 5x9 just for extra space to toss things like shoes or bags. But I've never been uncomfortable in mine. I do like that the 5x8 is less weight and shorter which helps...

Hiker Trailer - anyone have experience with them? (Now Buildout)

Yeah, apparently whatever site I used to host back in the day went ka-put. I used Eternabond which is a single sided roof tape. You need a heat gun to remove it, so plan twice, apply once. That link is the exact thing I ordered and have used on all three of my panels now. If you don't...

Hiker Trailer - anyone have experience with them? (Now Buildout)

Is that a BLACK roof?!?!?!? Or am I seeing things? That has got to cook that trailer and that solar panel (that I think I see) in the summer. I want to know how much you bribed Hiker to let you do a black roof? I was told they wouldn't do them anymore due to warping. You must have friends...

Hiker Trailer - anyone have experience with them? (Now Buildout)

At 6'5", I do fit in the 5x8 sleeping cabin. If I upgrade, I'm going 5x9 just to have the extra space for "stuff" and the end of the bed. In fact, I think I'd to a 5x9 on a 5x8 frame, or 5x10 on a 5x9 frame. (That may only be an offroad model option now.) This is what the oversized on a...

    Gobi Shipping Times

I'll never understand how they seem to be the only company in the industry that provides zero customer service and still remains in business. They remind me of the Seinfeld Soup Nazi episode where people just want their product so bad, they are willing to overlook all the BS. I wouldn't be...

Northeast Expedition Planning - looking for information

Thanks will do. It was a great trip, even if everything didn't go as planned. (More on that as I edit the last episode.) It was certainly a learning experience what NOT to do on several fronts when trip planning for a group and attempting to film it with anything short of an experienced film...

    2015 JKURHR Build

Definitely leave them on as per instructions. Taking them off will only make things worse. I was meticulous about even putting spacers in the door gap to help and I was still slightly off.

    2015 JKURHR Build

They are Kargomaster steps. https://www.quadratec.com/products/12138_1035_14.htm or I think you can get them direct from Kargomaster. A word of caution - you will need to break the paint seal on your door hinges to mount these and no matter what you do it's going to slightly change the...

    2015 JKURHR Build

Once my OEM flares get torn up to the point where I can't stand them, I think I'll be putting the Metalcloak fenders on. I like that you can step on them.
