    Well I bought Starlink

It's a brand new thing just happened in the last couple days, switch to standby and pay $5/month or your account will be deactivated. You should have gotten an email informing of this change. Will be curious to see if you get a new account charge when you reactivate.

    Well I bought Starlink

Agreed it works well, but free pause mode is now gone and there’s standby mode which is $5 a month.

    Well I bought Starlink

It sucks..lol. There's lots of talk of it going much higher but haven't seen any change. Stuck here for work at the moment, we will see what the future holds.

    Well I bought Starlink

I don't think it's bashing. It is a tactic Elon uses, offer something for free and then later change the deal. It is what it is, $5 barely buys you a gallon of gas in California so not a huge deal to me but a fair number of people purchased the Mini due to it's no charge pause feature, and...

Yeah got the same email, pretty typical Elon move if you talk to the Tesla crowd.

    Well I bought Starlink

Yes, the Mini has both AC and DC connections, the power cable that comes with the Mini is DC 5221 on both ends. If you want to power off USB C - it needs to be a PD100 USB C port, and you will need to purchase a separate cable with DC 5221 on one end and USB C on the other. I got the Starlink...

    Well I bought Starlink

That is correct for the Starlink Mini, as the router is built into the unit. The standard Starlink has a separate router so then you need power and data cables.

SoCal Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear area meetup?

Hi all, I live up in Lake Arrowhead and I've been thinking about putting together a rigs and coffee meetup this spring (April or May) and was wondering how much interest there would be for such an event. There's a handful of members up here and many more in the surrounding areas. I have a...

Yakima Road Shower - Cap Seal - Does it have one?

I just took a look at mine and don't see any internal seal at all. I have had the air pressure valve go bad, where the valve core rusted in place and wouldn't hold pressure, but I've never had any issues with leaking from the fill cap.

    Well I bought Starlink

For what it's worth, this particular USB C to 5221 adapter DOES NOT work with Starlink Mini: Amazon.com: Refyras High-Power PD DC5521 5.5mm x 2.1mm to USB Type C Power Charging Cable, 100W, Ideal for Laptops, Phones, Tablets Blue : Electronics I went ahead and purchased the Starlink USB C to...

    Well I bought Starlink

Well its official, we now have a Starlink Mini. Setup was very easy, up in running in 15 minutes and that includes a software update download. It was a no brainer after our vacation at the end of August got cut short due to a family emergency when we were 2 days driving time to home. Huge...

NPS in Utah will start citing AWD vehicles on 4WD roads…better know difference

I see both sides of the issue, but I have to admit when I saw the article on Expedition Portal my first thought was somebody is going to sue.

    Well I bought Starlink

I am thinking along these same lines. I don't really want to be connected except for emergencies, etc. but if it means I can get out more and work a little from the road, I'm in. I like the ability to pause the monthly as well. It's good backup at home too when the weather takes out the internet!
