Hi Bill -- Is there any dispersed camping to be had in this area? If we come up, we would have to spend the night, and the Big Cove Campground is "seasonably full".
Thanks for putting together a nice synopsis, Bill. Well done!
We had a great time hanging with you and the Reno Overlanders and will no doubt be back for future adventures.
Thank you also to Marc for all his work in planning this trip.
For those who know the Silver Springs area, we will be coming in late (very late) Friday night from the Bay Area ---- is there a nice place to park the rig on Friday night and sleep a few hours? We have the Four Wheel Camper, so we're self-contained. It looks pretty barren when viewed on Google...
Looking forward to heading back to Nevada! The Reno Overlanders always put on a good event, and we look forward to seeing you guys again. Nevada is a beautiful state for sure.
Hi Ken -- Did you and Marc get fuel on Monday? We noticed that the Gerlack gas station was closed when we rolled by. Luckily we had plenty to get back to Fernley.
From Redwood City. This is after Day 2 of this weekend's High Rock Canyon Run in the Black Rock Desert, NV with the Reno Overlanders. Not sure what the color of the truck was when we started ....
Hi Everyone -- We'll be joining you this weekend. We'll be coming up from the Bay Area in our F250 and our new (to us) Four Wheel Camper. I've been up once before for a day run with you folks, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of you again. My family will join on this adventure. What's the...

Best phone number for me is (415) 331-3858, and I have a CB in the truck.
I wouldn't mind a more difficult route. That said, I have to squeeze the full-size into whatever trail we choose. As long as it's not too narrow, we...
I talked my wife into taking Friday off, so we're happy to leave mid-morning Friday. Our camping setup takes about 1/2 hour, so I'd rather do it in daylight. If anyone else wants to leave earlier, so we can get a convoy going. We're leaving from Redwood City.
Dispersed is fine. Reserved is...
The one thing no one has mentioned yet, is that diesels don't like to start in really cold conditions. Heading to Alaska would cause me concern in my 2002 7.3 Superduty. If your block heater is plugged in , you're golden, but otherwise I would worry if I could leave camp in the mornings. Maybe...
