Sigh. I'd love the 510 Slide Out....but I'm getting to the point in my life that I'm done with "chronic projects," especially on things that are supposed to be fun.
.
I will second the sentiment above. The learning process is also helpful to understanding the science behind radio. It's not all just turning on and listening, not even close.
We all are willing to learn vehicle recovery, first aid, survival skills, etc.....why is studying for a test to be FCC...
Well everything the FCC issues is associated with an FRN.... so we pretty much have to play the game their way. If you want to download "official" copies, versus "reference" copies, then that's how you access them: via FRN. If there's another way, I'm not privy to it. Others may have gone in...
Ya, the FCC's website is the absolute worst thing to ever exist on the internet.
You should be able to look up everything issued to you by your FRN. It's a complete pain in the prostate, but it is possible... don't quit.
Here’s my SOTA beam…it collapses down to 22” or so and extends to 23 feet. Here it’s guyed, but it doesnt have to be: you can hook your typical, resonant EFHW (amazing antenna, SWR is 1:1 across 40m and 20m) to the end and lean it up on a tree…make your 10 QSOs and get down the road to your next...
I'll see if I can get on tomorrow night (12/10) if thats gonna be the plan.
Been set up on Echolink for over two years now, but never connected. This would be the very first time.
Here’s what the inside of my ride is like today. i collect morale patches and have them e v e r y w h e r e….
They say pretty much everything about me…I don’t even need to open my mouth.
