I've done this route in summer and winter and it is a lot of fun either way. There are a few sections that are sketchy with snow and ice on the ground. Sub'd for updates and notification of dates.
Zach needs no costume. He will just wear his daily outfit and we call him Quint. Yes, from Jaws...
Off-Road Ranger I
For the Mustang Tour?
I do. It's Lousetown Road from I80 to Geiger Grade. Then from VC you take the Ophir Grade Road down to Carson.
Lots of other loops and options too. We could do Toll Road which parallels Geiger down into Reno. Was just there yesterday and there are mustangs about, though they haven't made their way down to poop in my yard yet.
We could also do Jumbo Grade to/from Washoe Valley. There is a jeep trail there that is fun.
Only thing I'm not sure about is camping. But I'll find out where we could camp for this.
I have videos on my channel from this area, Jumbo Grade and Lagomarsino Petroglyphs.
After the crazy winter the roads are sure to be a LOT more interesting.
