Yes..they had a rather high death rate.I can guarantee if they had them, they would use them.
not from lack of navigational apps...but rather from lack of vitamin C and clean drinking water
but yeah...if they had I-pads back then, they definitely would have used them...but more than likely they would be accessing PornHub instead of WebMD...they were sailors after all!
