My second trip out with Ridgeback. First was last year on the Trans Vermont Expedition, and this was the green ride New Hampshire 2026. They may be green, but Ron’s green trails still make you think a little, with obstacles, and crucial line placement which is awesome. He’s a fantastic guide that knows his trails well, and can get you out of any issues you may be having. It’s gotten me familiar with my FJ and what it can do, and how to drive it off road. I have figured out how easy it is to flex it out on descends and some ascends. Descends and corners are tricky, but surely something to learn from. Still many more upgrades I want to do, and to get out far more than I do. Nonetheless a great time. If you’re in the Northeast, can’t beat Ridgeback guide service. The trips are worth the cost. Also not pictured in this lineup, was a few 4 runners, two Ineos Grenadiers, a Ram mega cab, another Frontier, a Rover, and probably a couple others I’m missing. Good nights around the campfire and good time on the trail.

Sounds like an awesome trip! It's always nice when you come away with more confidence in both your vehicle and your driving skills. Those kinds of trails seem like the perfect balance of challenging without being overwhelming. The mix of vehicles must have made for a fun group too. Thanks for sharing your experience it definitely makes me want to get out on the trails more often.

Ok, yeah. While mine is a 2014 Sierra 5.3 Z71 but I added a mild lift with AT tires, and I got the G80 auto locking diff just as the AT4 has. I've got some engine work to do on my truck but seems like once it's all put back together I should be able to go where that AT4 has been.

Took a look at the site. They are about 2 hrs from me, depending of course where the tour is. Pricing is not so bad either. I'd rather do that than take a cruise, to be honest.

Absolutely! Ron will also do private stuff too if you message. Highly recommend starting on the green trails. Wheelbase and overall length will be the hangups quite literally but he’s great at showing you how to navigate through it all. The cost is totally worth it in my opinion.

Yeah as a kid, we did a lot of logging with a 4x2 '78 Ford full size 8 foot bed (F100? Explorer?). We also beat the snot out of it off-road. Not nice to it at all.

Having said that I'm much more kind to my vehicles since I'm grow'd up. Green trails make sense to start just to get a feel for everything and I don't need to whomp on my truck that I use on the regular.

Wish I still had my decked out Jeep WJ or my GMT 400 stripped down short-bed Chevy.

Having someone who's been there and done that guide you is invaluable
